Jason walked down the hallway dressed in the snazziest of 1940’s fashion. White shirt, black tie, blue waistcoat with matching jacket and trousers. Feet shod in wingtip shoes with spats and his head covered by a brown fedora. A whitish tan raincoat covered the entire ensemble, no 1940’s detective or 1950’s spy should be without one. Thankfully, there were few people in the corridor right now, although it had been awkward when Yeoman Duffy had shared the turbolift with him. It was a short walk to the holodeck and the land of fiction.

Jason Harn, XO starting as many threads as possible until Sidney returns this Saturday

OOC: I think you mean Kenson unless your surprising me and are in front of my house in a fast car with loose women and loose cash in it and a Padre Island hotel reservation. ;)

OOC: I must have read a post wrong (and at too late in the evening).

Sid was not a holodeck user. He mainly did not get the time. However he was a big fan of mystery. Especially Agatha Christie. He heard the XO was running a Mickey Spillane type sim and figured it was close enough. He put on a vintage suit in the manner of his favorite detective. Poirot. Of course it was minus the girth but that was ok. He would be a thinner version of the brilliant yet obsessive sleuth.

Obviously he got some strange looks but that did not bother him as he made his way to the holodeck door and went in.

OOC: All you now R. Be cool to see someone show up as another detective and do a “Murder by Death” kinda thing.

Parker CO

Jason smiled when he saw Sidney. There wasn’t anybody else on the ship that was the same age they were and he was really looking forward to spending time with him. On reflection, Jason realized that his feelings of isolation were probably his own fault, since he hadn’t shared his unusual past with his shipmates. (Of course, he hadn’t heard tales about their childhoods either.) Still out of everyone aboard, Sidney seemed to understand him better than anyone else.

“Hey boss,” Jason greeted. “Lookin’ sharp. So which one of us wants to be Dixon Hill?”

Jason Harn, XO

“Oh its all yours Mr. Hill. You see I am the slimmed down version of the one real detective, Hercules Poirot. Unlike you Mr. Hill I do not exercise my, how do you say, big muscles, but rather my little gray cells.” Sid answered using the famous Belgian Detectives trademark accented English.

Parker/Poirot

Hercules Poirot? Oh my Gawd,” Jason laughed. Picturing Captain Sidney Parker as the finicky and arrogant Hercules Poirot took some doing. But that was the point of the holodeck. One could play make-believe and be someone other than oneself. An excellent way to put oneself into another’s shoes a prepare someone for diplomatic situations or first contact missions (which is why Starfleet never commented on grown men acting like little kids, Jason supposed). Coughing into his fist, Jason regained his composure. “Ed, Thell, and I and started a Dixon Hill case already, but it hadn’t really progressed very far. Nobody even got murdered yet. Should we pick it up from there?”

Jason Harn, XO/Dixon Hill (unless another player character shows up)

“Of course Hastings.” Sid said and then stopped. “Oh so careless of me my dear Mr. Hill. Poirot does not always remember his dear Hastings is not here right now. Just yourself, which I am sure is well qualified to assist.”

Poirot was being his usual arrogant self but in that sly insulting while pretending to comliment manner.
