A moment later she had them ducking under a fighter that was so taken apart, it was hard to tell exactly what it was, if you hadn’t seen it beforehand. Then, a couple steps later, the caution tapes on the floor indicated the hatch to the jeffries tube he needed access to. “Here you go. Up one, left and down will put you behind this wall,” she affectionally patted to wall to her left, “and the air unit. I’ll be here when you come out. Just holler if you need anything.”
Xandra
CAGLooking at all the parts he was fascinated by had to pay attention or get hurt. “Roger that. I can’t wait.... to get to work. I’ll be done in about 20 minutes. If you’re not here, I’ll stand by until you come.” Jackass he thought about himself.
Lt. Steve Johnson CE
When Steve was finished, he’d come out of the jeffries tube to find Xandra half inside the intake of a nearby shuttle. The panel was off and she had pushed herself into the compartment nearly far enough to lift her feet off the ground. One foot was lifted, half cocked a the knee. And her other foot was on tip toe as she reached in to do whatever she was doing.
And she was humming. Her lifted foot was bouncing slightly in time with the tune.
Xandra
CAGGetting out of the tube and brushing himself off he heard a noise and aw the CAG almost engulfed in a plane just be-bopping around. Enjoying the view and smiling to himself before he cleared his throat loudly so as not to scare her or at least try to minimize the scare so she doesn’t hurt herself that badly. “Madam? I am done but please do take your time. Do you need any help?” He looked to see if there was enough room for them both to fit inside.
Lt. Steve Johnson, CE
Xandra laughed silently to herself. She had heard the door close and had counted the seconds till he tried to call out. “I’m good… though if you wanna help, there is a panel on the belly. One panel from the aft and two to starboard. If you can remove that, I’d be grateful. Need to drop a line and will save me a couple steps.” She stopped bouncing her foot and tried to shift to get the cable going where she needed. But it still left one leg half up in the air as she stretched further into the tube.
Xandra
CAG“Will do but are you sure you don’t want me to hold your legs like a wheelbarrow so you can get to what you are reaching at? But I can do that after I get that panel off for you.” He grabbed the proper tool and got down and removed the panel hoping to see her.”
Lt. Steve Johnson, CE
Xandra laughed. “No, thanks… but if you remove that panel, I’ll not have to reach so far. I was actually stretching trying to reach the fasteners from ‘this’ side so I wouldn’t have to go back and forth.” She shook her head, though he wouldn’t see it. “Just trying to short cut. So you helping keeps me from doing something ridiculous that I shouldn’t have.”
Xandra
CAGLaughing, “No problem. I’ll get that for you.” With the tools in hand he undid the panel and saw her. He smiled. “Hi. Come here often?” He said with a grin. “What else do you need help with?”
Lt. Steve Johnson, CE
Xandra laughed as his face came into view beneath her. “Probably more than I should.” After a second of squirming, she slowly snaked a conduit cable between the engine case and the wall of the shuttle. “Take this and there should be a connector for it just to your left, back up underneath. I may have been able to eventually get it from here, but it wouldn’t have been pretty.” It was her turn to laugh.
