After arriving on the ship to a non-existent welcome, Rudy the newly-minted science officer decided to report to his COS. Which happened quickly.

Rudy could be seen entering the science deck. The COS might catch him.

Ensign Rudy Suana - Science Officer

In the general-purpose Science lab, the main lab the door to the Chief Science Officer’s office was open. A man seated behind his desk looked up at the new arrival and cocked his head. His shoulder-length raven dark hair was tied together in a loose ponytail, it was greying at the temples. The Chief Scientist was in his middle years. He stood up and waved to the ensign, a friendly smile on his face “You the new lad? Suana?” He called from his desk.

CSO

“Ensign Rudolf Suana reporting for duty, sir!”

The CSO might remember from Suana’s file that his preferred nickname was “Rudy”.

James nodded and pointed to a chair in front of his desk “Have a seat” He tapped a few commands on his console bringing up the officers record “You just graduated the Academy?” He asked

“Yes I have, sir. Geosciences specialization. Gemology and astro-geography sub-specialization.”

The Ensign took a seat after uttering the final word of the sentence.

James nodded “This will be your first posting as an officer, how do you feel about being assigned to a ship like the Olinski. She’s big and will undoubtedly face her share of Combat situations.”

“I mean, I did score first on my pistol shooting test way back when. That’ll help.”
