OOC: Just recap and continue this lil side sim if you are still so inclined to do so:

Little Sehlat, Papa Bear, X, Toro, and Ael (sorry Sam, but I’m having a brainfart on his call sign) were investing an asteroid field that was being mined by a private company. There were unidentified craft that had been buzzing around and the miners were getting nervous.

The squad encountered 6 alien craft and when Papa Bear asked them to identify themselves, the response was a very loud, high-pitched, very painful screech that came through all of our comm units. Of course, Ric was affected because he was running this simulation.

I believe the last post before the swich over was Harn, but I don’t recall exactly what his post said.

R, if you can remember and repost that, we can continue on from that point. If anybody has any questions, I’ll answer them as best as I can

The shriek coming in over his comm system was unbearable, and Jason couldn’t even remove his helmet to silence the noise in a timely manner. He quickly switched comm frequencies to get off the channel that had that painful noise, and if that didn’t work, he would disengage the comm system all together. As soon as he was able to think clearly, he realized that the enemy had just found a way to sever the squadron’s communications, leaving them disorganized and uncoordinated. Even now he realized that he was flying off course, Papa Bear’s simulated fighter was farther away than it should have been.

Vulcan and Romulan ears were far more sensitive than those of most other species. Ael howled in pain as he switched his comms off. Risky, yes. But he couldn’t fly with that noise in his ears. Sehlat had left Papa Bear in charge for a moment. He’d done something similar back in his day. Testing to make sure everyone can handle the pressure of having to take the lead. With that in mind, and an old trick up his sleeve, he took lead position. He pitched his left wing up twice. Then he pitched the nose of his Cutlass up twice. The signal; form up, maneuver left, do not engage.
