The next morning, Lissi did what she needed then turned the deck over to one of the shift supervisors and headed for her boarding physical. If she didn’t do it today, her codes would be revoked once more and she’d have to explain to the Captain why she hadn’t gone.

She walked into medical and looked around for the Doc. She had invited him to dinner last night and had promptly fallen asleep while her wrist was encased in a regenerator. Despite guessing he would brush her off and not give a care to the slight, she still felt a need to apologize. Then she’d get her physical done.

Abel came over and smiled. “Lissi, good to see you. How is the wrist?” he asked.

She smiled and rolled her wrist slowly and left it hovering for a moment for him. “Like new… and I promised your nurse, to behave for a week.”
“I actually came for two reasons. One, because I still owe you a physical for my official check in. And also to see if I could make up my slight from last night. I invited you to dinner, then promptly passed out. Can I interest you in lunch if you haven’t had it yet?” She smiled and inclined her head politely.”
