Ari rushed in the room, waiting for the CoS and its team. In the meanwhile he assembled a little team of 3 NEs: NE Jiggle, NE Chase and NE Jodel. They waited and checked their equipment when Ari started talking to everyone except the transporter room chief.
“So, this will be the first away mission for someone, and me too. I’m Ari Salmeberger, your new CSO. I’ve met some of you the first day I boarded and I am happy to serve as your DH. So you know your job, do it as best as you can.”
A pause started and it was kinda awkward… a minute began to pass then a second one and Ari started feeing pretty much embarrassed “Mr. Higgins?” Called the Transporter Chief “where’s Kate? She’s late…”

The transporter ensign asked, “Sir, are you in the same team with Lt. O’Neill? I have two coordinates: one for Team 1 and the other for Team 2.”

“Ya know the whole Late Kate thing is so wrong,” she said walking in with her team. “I mean I am not,”

“Um boss, yeah we kinda are,” a large Orion by the name of Ollie said in a soft tone. The voice did not match the sheer size of the man. Some would call Ollie a gentle giant but then again these were not the same people that experienced him ripping their arms out of their sockets when he got mad.

“No they said five minutes and it is,” Kate looked at her watch and made a small pursing pucker with her lips as she decided how to finish the sentence. Kate was not only late but way past the turbo was delayed late. That was the last time she was going to let Shaun make sure her pistol was primed before she went on an away mission. He said it was going to take five minutes but when did priming a phaser take less than fifteen minutes. Still, she didn’t realize there was that much carbon scoring on it and the last thing she needed was more fodder for Shaun to point out how often he had to patch her back up. “Oh, I am here now. It’s not like they are under attack or the planet is going to disappear,” she waved Ollie off with a roll of her eyes and a half-smirk.

“Hey Ari,” Kate waved at him with a smile. “So we ready to start this rodeo,” she asked stepping onto the transporter pad.
