Pongo nodded towards the Vulcan doctor, “It is easier the path you choose, then one that is chosen for you. Do you intend to be an Ambassador someday?” Pongo understood a little, he was not an Ambassador, well not officially, but as the only member of his people in Starfleet he was often seen as the model of expected behavior of the others from his planet. It was hard to explain, that of the five people of New Ashlar, the Tuan were but one, and the easiest to get along with. The Boon, and Lari would be the next easiest, then the Rambe, and the Zan, well few people get along with the Zan, they were aggressive, and mean spirited most of the time. As well as highly competitive and territorial. That was not a matter of the moment though. As he waited for a response from Doctor Tauren, he wiggled in his seat unconsciously. After they finished talking Pongo figured he would get the Doctors Eval out of the way as well. It would just be smart to do.

“I would not object to a career in diplomacy eventually,” Tauren answered. “Although, if I were to join a significant research group, some degree of diplomacy would be necessary in such a situation as well. Or I might make a career out of Starfleet. I do not believe it to be wise to prematurely eliminate possibilites.”

Pongo nodded and shrugged, “That makes sense Tauren. Shall we get you on a bed and checked in?” Pongo asked dropping from his chair to the floor. The red gold furred alien, smiled and waddled towards the officer door. “The sooner I get you checked in the sooner we can get you on the duty rosters.” Pongo grinned, he liked gettting his people situated, and settled in. “And a standing order is if you are interested in something, let me know and we get you credit for learning the thing.”

“Acknowledged sir. On both fronts,” Tauren said with a small nod before he stood. “You will find one anomaly on my record. My left leg is prosthetic below the knee. It causes me no discomfort, and the reduction in mobility is insignificant, but since you will find it when you scan me or my records, there is no reason not to mention it, medically. I prefer not to have it known otherwise, as it does sometimes cause others to treat me differently than they otherwise would, and there is no logical reason anyone else other than my doctor has any need to know.”
