The bridge....

The raven haired Klingon half breed arrived up in the lift and stepped onto the sacred carpeted area with a smile on her face. She had settled into engineering and had even done a third shift turn on the bridge. But this time, she was here to discuss any issues that may need tending to, or calibrations elsewhere on the ship the bridge staff would be privy to that she should look into. It was true she had a daily update of the ship stats every day at the beginning of first shift. But those were things that were certainly out of specs, or not working well. This was a visit to discover the things ‘not’ on the list of immediate needs.

Eyes as deep a blue as the space surrounding her home, Earth, she glanced around to see who was on duty. It was almost the end of second shift and the skeletal remains of the busyness of the day were all that were left on the command deck.

James stepped off the the lift and went to the security and tactical Console there was a small problem with one of the torpedo tubes. Before he can get in there and fix it he needed to do a system diagnostic to find out how bad the Problem is. He looked around and saw the CE he waved her over to see if any one from engineering can help with the repairs.

Lissi nodded to the Ensign who had just breezed by her. As she came up to his side, she smiled. “Lieutenant Rosh… what can I do for you?” She wasn’t condescending or overbearing but the greeting was one of ease and equalness despite the rank differences. She wasn’t sure how many Ensigns weren’t looked down on by the higher ranks, but she didn’t want to be one of those. Sure, she could pull rank and dominate like the rest of the DHs. But if she didn’t have to, why would she?

James looked at her and Pulled up the problem on the screen next to him. “Were having problems with torpedo tube 2. The consul down in the torpedo control room says there is no problem but the consul up here says there is and we cannot launch anything out of that Tube and I will not know what the problem is until I get down in there. If there is a problem I would like someone from the engineer team to assist me with the repairs”

Lissi tapped on the console beside his and glanced to his to make the comparison. “Ok, so let’s go see what’s wrong.” She smiled and nodded her chin over her shoulder.

She glanced around the bridge to see if anyone else was trying to get her attention first, then stood up and nodded to the lift. “I’m gonna swing by engineering, I’ll meet you on deck 35 in the torpedo control room. We will start there. Set this console to diagnostic mode. I want to be sure it’s not this station that’s malfunctioning.” She patted his shoulder and moved to head for engineering. It felt good to be needed. But this anomaly made her wonder what else could be wrong.

Before James left the bridge he set the counsel to run a diagnostic and left to the control room he went and got a tool box first. In a few minutes he was in the control room running a other diagnostic and this counsel to check if there was a problem with the system. The counsel still show a problem with the tube. He got the Maintenance door open for him and the Engineer to check the tube.
