The last stop on Abel’s list was the ship’s Counselor. Unlike most people he knew, Sig didn’t mind Counselors at all. In fact, he relished the opportunity to discuss concerns and issues with someone who was not there to judge, but simply to listen. Far too rarely had he had those opportunities prior to coming to Star Fleet, so he looked forward to meeting both the Counselor… and someone he hoped would become a colleague. After all, the Medical Section and the Counselor often worked closely together. It was only fitting, in Siegfried’s mind at least, that they built a professional relationship from the start.

After a few wrong turns, Abel found the Counselor’s door and pressed the chime. It was the moment immediately after he pressed it that he thought he should have made an appointment. He blushed, not for the first time that day, at the thought he may be interrupting someone’s session. The thought mortified him in no small way.
