“Pull,” Kate yelled and instantly her command was met by a clay target being launched. She kept her gaze firmly on the target. This was far harder than a normal shooting qualification. There was wind, sun in your eyes, distractions and the targets were moving. Rarely did anyone but security need to understand how to lead your shot however in real life no one ever stood still and said shoot me in a gun battle. She did not expect perfection nor for Pongo to even hit a target. All Kate was looking for was the ability to get close to the target. Anything else he hit was gravy.

Pongo’s ears twitched a bit, though they were hard to see, so most would not have noticed. It was not her command of pull he had been listening for, but the sound of the machine ratcheting forward to launch the clay disc. Pongo was not an expert Marksman, but he was decent, and he liked to hunt. This was like taking fowl on the wing. The rifle settled into his shoulder, his breathing was steady, and his short bowed legs turned out slightly to give him stability.
AS the clay disc flew above the head of the crowd Pongo tracked it, then skipped ahead of it to lead it. To be safe, Pongo squeezed off three quick shots instead of one long shot. Trusting in his eyes and reflexes to walk it on to target. His first round was off by a margin, the second hit the disc, so would have the third if it had still been there to hit. Pongo grinned happily having done well, at least in his mind. He was a doctor, he was not a Marine, or Security he was not supposed to hit with every shot. Besides it was a thing not a being he was shooting. That would have been harder even holographic as unless he was defending his own life, or a patients, Pongo hard a time conceptualizing himself doing violence unto another. The idea was absurd to him. He was little, and trusted in the security officers to protect him.
The golden furred potbellied alien looked at the Security Chief for a second, once it dawned on him, that it might not have been his turn. He shrugged and gave her an enthusiastic grin that rolled his upper grey and cream lip back. “Sorry was it my Turn?”
Lieutenant Commander Pongo Bubbles MD, Chief Medical Officer
“Yes it was your turn and you are a pretty good shot,” Kate nodded happy. She would not admit it but sometimes the thought of a scientist or a doctor was scarier than that of an enemy. Knowing that Pongo could not only hit the broad side of a barn but pretty close to a bullseye made him Kate’s top pick for the medic on her team.
“Now would you like to go for double jeopardy where the scores can really change,” Kate asked hoping Pongo would catch one of her favorite lines from her very favorite non-traditional Christmas movies. =/\= Computer run Blackbeard’s Funtime Cruise=/\= Kate ordered. Instantly the 1950’s beach scene. No longer were there beach bunny clad women. Now there was a large wooden ship in place of the surfers with a large Jolly Roger flapping in the ocean air. The phaser rifle that was in Pongo’s hand was replaced with a sword as six pirates began to run towards them.
