The culture was highly militaristic, and weapons training was a part of the daily routine for all schools. Looking back a Riss she continued. “My family is big, loud, and always doing something. I think our front door was actually a revolving door. The only time we are sitting still is when we are sleeping. I guess it was because I was raised dirtside and not on a ship. Back home we woke up and went outside to find things to entertain ourselves. “My family was very social as well. We hosted many dinners for various dignitaries and members of state. That being said, I believe that your socialization was much more… personable… that that which I grew up with.”

“That’s just Kate, southern comfort in the West Virginia region of North America is often known for hospitality, big parties, out doors. It took me awhile to get used to all of that, it wasn’t what I knew before my dad flew us down and moved us in there.” Shaun said, knowing how foreign it could feel even to other people from Earth how Kate’s family and just the region in general felt.

“That’s just manners.” she looked at both men like they had instantly morphed into something alien. “How do you not throw a barbeque or bring over a cake when someone new moves into town? You all are the heathens,” she winked. “People naturally want social contact. They don’t think they do but they do. It is like their biological imperative and back home....we don’t fight it.”
