USS Odin
17/18 Forward
Doctor Tauren made his way to the ship’s recreational center for a variety of reasons. One was the purely preparatory; in the event of major medical emergencies, this was a major designated triage area. Seeing the layout in advance would make him more prepared in the event of a true emergency.
Another, however, was the social. It was, in a very real sense, illogical not to know ones fellow crew, particularly when you depended on them for your very survival.
There were several people already in the 17/18 Forward complex when Tauren made his way in, but it was hardly overcrowded. He looked around for a moment, absorbing the layout and the view to memory, before he made his way to the counter.
“A plomeek broth. A hasperat, extra mild. And tea, … actually, cancel the tea. Coffee, Jamaican blend, extra sweet.” He nodded to himself as his order appeared in the replicator, as the variety of different foods should resolve any nutritional deficiency that remained after his travel. Not often that one ate both Vulcan and Bajoran meals and drank a Human beverage with it.
His tray made it to his table unmolested, and he sat at a small table with a nice view of the stars outside. The din of conversation from other tables seemed to fade into the background, as he began to eat his soup, pondering the future. One never knew who one might meet in a place like this, but that was the entire point of eating here rather than in his quarters.
