“Fire the torpedos at the same time as the burst from the deflector array and take us into that asteroid belt at our top speed.”Stovik said as he leaned forward in his chair, face concentrated on the forward viewscreen and the Cardassian ship displayed thereon.

Captain Stovik

“Copy that.” Kane said and programmed in the trajectory so that the torpedoes would look like they fired out randomly and their explosion radii would overlap just in front of the Cardassian vessel, but not actually hit them.

“I’d suggest a few power surges right before. Might help sell the whole ‘Oh-my-god-we-are-all-going-to-die’ shtick.”

Kane, Tac/Med

“See to it, Mr. Kane.” Stovik said as he waited to see what would transpire.

Captain Stovik

“Copy that.” Kane replied and did a quick scan of what was left of their ship. He tapped the comms and said =/\= Tactical to Engineering. We need several power surges in multiple areas. We gotta convince these guys we are about to explode. Shouldn’t be too hard, especially if you make Loring do it. =/\= after that he tapped a few more commands and then said “Torpedoes ready, course programmed.” and he looked at the CSO through wisps of stray hair. “As soon as you say go and their sensors are down, I’ll launch and we can boogie.”

Kane, Tac /Med

=/\=Scott to Bridge acknowledged. Power surges in 3…2....1…mark.=/\=

Scott, CE

Power surges ran through a random set of eps conduits, blowing out a few. A couple of consoles on the Bridge sparked and started a little fire. A shimmering sound could be heard as well as Taggert, Kane and two NE’s who were fighting a small fire disappeared in an orange transporter haze. Reports came in from various decks about damage as well as missing personnel as the ship made it’s burst of speed. It would seem the plan had worked otherwise as the Cardassian ship had yet to open fire.

-GM

“Captain, our teleporters are still offline, I think the Cardasians have beamed some of our people over to their ship!” Andrea said. She ran to a working tac console and checked if she could raise at least minimum shileds. That would prevent further beaming out…

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

Stovik rose from his seat and did a quick survey of the bridge to see who had been beamed away. “Find out where they were beamed too and get our shields up!” He frowned as he opened an intraship comm with the toggle on his command seat.=^=All stations, report in who has been taken.=^=This situation was just going from bad to worse. Even if they managed to get away and hide from the Cardassasians, how were they to get their crewmembers back? What did they want?

Captain Stovik

“Already on it..” Came a swift reply from Stone. The shield emmiters themselves were fully operational. However due to their warp engine problems providing a stable power supply was a different matter.

“Lieutenant Grey, could the deflectors be used to block out the Cardassians?” She asked without looking around if he was still present or not. Shields required a lot of power while deflectors could run on a much lower setting. Still maybe they could be used instead of the shields. Unfortunately she wasn’t that good in the scientific fields so she wasn’t sure if it could work or not..

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“That’s the plan Leftenant. Explosions followed by sensor blindness. Ready on our end” The young Scientist said trying his best not to show the fear in his voice. This was truly beyond anything he expected from his first mission.

CSO

The explosions combined with the blindness worked. The Cardassian ship opened fire once before pulling back to avoid what looked to be a catastrophic warp core failure. The Chernov covered the distance it needed to get within the entrance of the large cave structure in the asteroid. The Cardassian ship had not moved from it’s former location aside from turning broadside to get more shield emitters to soak the residual damage from the torpedo explosions. More reports showed on the consoles of missing personnel due to transporter activity, totaling 24 officers and crewmen.

-GM

“Damn it.” Andrea cursed. Although they got away she felt as she didn’t do enough to protect the ship and now people went missing. “Perhaps we can notify the Federation on what has happened. The Cardassians sound tough to bargain with, but I’m sure they could get persuaded to let our people go.”

If it was up to her, she’d fight them. But right now they were sevearely handicapped.

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

Stovik sat in the Command chair going over their options in his head. He still didn’t see a whole lot of them without repairs to their engines, weapons and shields.
[O]Engineering, repair estimates for engines, weapons and shields?[O] He asked as he toggled the communications button on the arm of his chair.

Adira grabbed the three usable couplers she had found as the Vulcans voice sounded over the comm system. Moving over to the panel next to the door she replied [O] It could take anywhere from a couple of minutes to I don’t know, and that’s just for the engines! I don’t know how long it would take me for weapons and shields. I’m not an engineer, but I’m doing the best I can[O]

“Let’s power down all extraneous power signatures except what is needed for repairs.” He said to the bridge at large.” We need to go dark except for what is only necessary.”

Captain Stovik

William finally exhaled, having held his breath for the entirety of the journey. “I don’t think so Lieutenant” He looked over to stone “The way that Captain spoke, it’s a special arrogance on a whole different level. Already deciding our fate means their legal system is brutal, medieval even. And his quip about the simplicity of our language shows an inherent superiority complex.” He said slightly out of breath.

CSO

“I agree, but we can’t simply go and fight them. Even if we could easily defeat them, starting a conflict with a race we know nothing about could have long term
consequences.” Stone shook her head slightly. “I want to get our people back immediately, but I doubt we have much we can bargain with.”

Lt. Andrea Stone, COS

“Did the Commander not put out a call to Command just before this?” Stovik asked as he looked around the bridge. He thought he remembered the Commander ordering it back when he had first entered the bridge. “See if a call went out.” He said to Stone.

Captain Stovik

“Right away, Sir.” She responded and immedaitely checked the communication logs since the accident. She also checked the status of their communicators to see if they were operational at the moment or not.

OOC: I will nudge Josh for a response though I know he’s having to deal with packing and finding a new home atm.
