They reached a corridor with several doors, and Mwezi opened one to reveal a small room with chairs against the wall and what looked like helmets with black visors in boxes in the center. He stepped in. “This is the mind chamber. You wear the helmet on your head and sit in the chair, and you can be transported into another world,” he explained.

Kula stepped over to a slightly taller chair and pulled out a helmet with a front that was built for her species. “I think the Laleri helmet will work best in regards to size for the humans… And non humans,” she grinned, and Mwezi agreed. He grabbed three helmets and handed them to the officers. “Find a seat and put on the helmet. It… Might not be a perfect fit, but it should do the trick”

Feeling a most definite sense of curiosity, Stovik arched an eyebrow and accepted the proffered helmet and setting it on his head, sat in the chair. He wondered what he would see and pushed that thought aside, he would see what he would see when the helmet was activated. Not logical to allow the sense of anticipation to affect him. He waited calmly.

Following subsequently to the Captain, the young doctor adjusted the helmet upon her head. Taking a seat, nearby, she allowed her hands to rest beside patiently waiting for the following steps. While curiosity prickled at her mind, she was not so keep as to ignore it, as the Captain seemed to. She allowed her mind to stay on a logical track of attempting to determine possibilities of what would occur.

Chris smiled and took the helmet and put it on. It was big for him but stayed on and he believed that he would still get the best out of this. He took a seat and almost fell off by sitting too close to one side. Maybe he should have took a seat first before putting it on. “Ok. I’m a go as well.” He felt excited.

The two Laleri smiled, then as Kula put on her helmet and sat down, Mwezi grabbed a special helmet made in a different colour. The “control” helmet. He got ready, then pressed a button.

Everyone’s worlds went black as all sensation was lost to them. Then, out of the ether, a prick of light. The light grew, and grew, and… They were in a featureless white room, and could see around them four figures. These figures would be assumed to be each-other, but the human and Vulcan officers no longer were human and vulcan, but Laleri. The two native officers looked relatively similar to what they looked like in real life, although they seemed to be dressed a bit less formally.

IC: “Well, this is the Mind Chamber, where basically anything is possible,” one of the Laleri spoke, a deep voice that must be Mwezi. The other, more slender, must then be Kula. “Create sunset over Zara,” he ordered, and the white of the room began to shift, and moments later… they were standing on the balcony of a villa in the foothills of a softly rising mountain range, the sun setting over a rustic little town, and the far off glint of an ocean. Mwezi smiled, looking around. “I used to watch this every night before I went to sleep…” he said softly.

Chris looked around and noticed the others were Laleri and he looked at his arms and saw that he was as well. He was about to mention it until the magnificent view laid before him and it took his breath away. “This is an amazing and stunning view! And you grew up here and watched this every night?”

Mwezi nodded quietly. “This is the town we both grew up in. Not exactly the home I lived in, it’s further over that way,” the officer spoke, stepping over to touch Kula’s shoulder gently and point with one hand to the north. “Now, are there any fears or phobias that we should know about? If anyone is afraid of heights or something, this is a very realistic simulation and you can’t exit unless the program ends,” he said, stepping over to lean against the balcony and look out over the town. “So I don’t want to accidentally trigger anything,” he smiled gently.

He was still waiting for the Starfleet officers to comment on the fact that they looked like their alien hosts.

“I mean no illintent upon the observation,” The alien doctor began, choosing her words with great care and tentativeness. For a second, she seemed to consider their current state, specifically for those who were not members of the species which inhabited this planet. It was fascinating, truly, to discover oneself in the skin of a creature they never could be. Albeit, quite unsettling, when it came down to it. Although, T’Aria did not allow for such emotions to cross her mind, as they were illogical and otherwise without rationale.

“However, it does appear as if non-Laleri Officers, now appear as the said species. For what reason did this occur?”

“The computer is not programmed with aliens in mind,” Mwezi chuckled, “I will be certain to ask the programmers to code in other species, but the Mind Chamber believes that you are Laleri because you wear the Laleri headset. It is not a particularly intelligent program, in regards to the character models of users,” he explained with a shrug.

“That makes sense. I would refrain from beaches, Risa, water other than a pool or you can have it at a distance like you have now is fine but nothing in it or right next to it. And no gaint squids. Especially the big sea monsters. That’s how I lost my eye, leg, arm and my wife. So please don’t go there.” He said with reluctance.

“I am fine with any scenario.” The Captain said as he studied the view and waited for their hosts to continue the program. It was a very aesthetically pleasing looking environment. Not Vulcan, with is deep red and brown hues but similar to the majority of Class M planets.
