The shift change was happening. Morning crew was coming in and night crew was leaving. There was hustle and bustle all over as stations were taken over, tools put up and accounted for and plans for the afternoon made between everyone.

There was about 15 minutes till Bridie would address the morning crew like she always did. Soon they would be lined up in front of her office awaiting their assignments for the day.

Blaze entered in his usual manner not feeling happy in the morning. Maybe he can take a nap in his lab later.

Dr. Alexander Blaze (Engineer)

As Bridie came out of her office, everyone formed up. She waited for the whispering to stop and leaned on the wall with her PaDD in hand. “All right, good morning all. I know we are relaxing a bit, but honestly, we have things that need doing. Today I’m dividing you up into teams. We have a few new pieces of equipment that need to be installed or replaced and some routine maintenance we are gonna catch up on or jump on early since we have the chance. So here are your assignments.”

She took a minute or three and read off the teams and what they were doing. When it was done, Blaze was the only one she hadn’t named. “All right, everyone. Off you git. And don’t short cut anything. I want it all by the book. If you aren’t familiar, look it up!” She glanced at everyone and smiled. “Now get to it. Ensign Blaze, my office, please.” She turned without another word and let everyone go their way.

Blaze Yawned as he walked slowly to her office ‘hopefully this will not take too long’ as he thought to him self as he entered her office Taking a set. “Now what special assignment you have for me today” he said as she entered.

Dr. Alexander Blaze? (Engineer)

Bridie smiled. The man had done well, but it was time to burst his bubble. “Your special assignment today is to dismantle anything you are working on in your lab, put a proper uniform on, remove that jacket and join Anderson and Hayes on cleaning the plasma conduits. But before you do that…” she steepled her fingers and leaned on her desk towards him. “Care to tell me why nearly everything in your file is a lie or fabrication? Vulcan Academy was destroyed, no Klingon vessel would let you serve, though I admit they may serve you… as a meal. And your long list of PhD and such aren’t registered with any Academy, school, or institute in the entire system. Impressive… but why?”

She wasn’t mad, oddly enough, and was sincerely curious how and why he had done it in the first place.

Alex looked at her with his tired eyes “ well I can say it was fun for a long time but your thinking why I did this I was bored and I was dared to unroll when I was 16. I never know it was going to take long but some things in my lab I did make I will like to keep them locked up so I can work on them if I ever have free time again and I guess I will be spending my off hours in the Break.” He said just wanted this to end for so long.
