<snip>She smiled, this time it reached her eyes. “No, thank you. Hope you feel better enough to eat later. Good night.” She turned and left without looking back. Yeah, she would get under his skin, in a good way, if it was the only thing she accomplished on this tour.
Bridie
CECaptain Chris Taggart CO
(((Fixed my post because I misunderstood.)))He should have gone to Sickbay right after they got back. Mwezi knew that. But the knowledge that Taggart was under heavy surgery and his own pride kept him away. He’d be fine. The med-kit he kept in his room was good enough to deal with most of the abrasions and cutd, but the bite the werewolf had gotten on his arm right before Mwezi had ended the beast’s life wasn’t looking good.
Not Mwezi-being-at-risk-of-becoming-a-werewolf territory. He was pretty sure he was fine regarding that. But it still hurt like heck. He wrapped it in a bandage and lay down on his small sofa, trying to nap a bit.
....
Several hours had passed when he awoke. His arm was throbbing painfully. Ugh. No avoiding it anymore. Hopefully by now, Taggart’s surgery was over. Mwezi got to his feet, still shirtless and dressed in the trousers he’d worn to the surface, and stumbled his way across the decks and through the doors of Sickbay.
It was about half an hour after Bridie left. He said nothing, just found somewhere to sit, unwrapped his makeshift bandage, and waited. He hadn’t showered, so he kinda stank.
Mwezi, CTO
Kane came out to check on Taggart and saw the big lupine sitting. “Warren, it’s late. If you want to see the -” and he stopped and looked harder, seeing the arm. “Now dammit all, Warren! Why didnt you come in when we got back?!” he said through clenched teeth. “Biobed. Now.” and he snapped his fingers and pointed to the bed recently vacated by the CE.

Mwezi gritted his teeth into something resembling a smile as he stepped over and settled onto the bed. “You were busy with a much more pressing surgery. … And I fell asleep.”
At least it was a clean bite, there hadn’t been any tearing when the other being bit him. But there was a neat series of puncture wounds in a semi-circle on either side of his upper arm.
Mwezi, CTO
Kane looked at it and ran a tricorder over it. “I’m not the only one here. Someone else could have fixed this.” he growled. He went to a cabinet and open several drawers. Finding the things he needed, he came back. “I gotta get the hair out of the way and clean it. Then I’m gonna close those up and give you some antibiotics. And you’re gonna sit here and be quiet.” He picked up the clippers and began shaving the forearm and mumbling about ‘people waiting till hell freezes over something something…’.
Kane, CMO
“Door was locked,” Mwezi muttered, closing his eyes and effectively forcing himself not to feel pain as Kane did his work. Mwezi had a high pain tolerance, and it showed as he didn’t even flinch as Kane worked on his wound. “I guess we are a little too Klingon. Would not have gone to Sickbay on a Galdori ship. Unless it is life threatening, we deal with our own injuries.”
Mwezi, CTO
Kane growled as he cleared the rest of the hair away and began cleaning the wound “Maybe you haven’t noticed, but this ain’t a Galdori ship. You get hurt, you get seen. See here?” and he pointed and pressed on a mildly swollen and red wound. “Infected. Yeah, so you go ahead and treat that. Then after a few days I’ll see you to amputate your arm.” and he shook his head in irritation.
He thoroughly cleaned and irrigated the wounds, and then said “They’re not too deep. I can bandage and they’ll close up in a couple days, or you can spend a few hours laying here with a dermal regenerator on and it’s done. Your call, Warren.”
Kane, CMO
Something that rarely happened with a patient, Mwezi barely flinched as Kane jabbed his wound. He was probably the only person on the ship who wasn’t bothered by the CMO’s rough bedside manner. “I just figured you wouldn’t want me around with Taggart… As he was. And I really had to calm down… That fight got me in a weird place.”
Mwezi sighed slightly, looking at the now cleaned wound. “If you want me to apologize I can,” he muttered. “But I’ve got the feeling that’s not your style. However, in the future, I won’t neglect my health. Are you satisfied?” Kane’s question made Mwezi let out a small breath. “Go ahead and use the regenerator. How is the Captain?”
- Mwezi
Kane shrugged and said “Taggart’ll pull through.” and he went and retrieved the dermal regenerator and programmed, then set the adhesive and placed it on Mwezi’s arm. He then looked directly at the big wolf-man and said “I dont care if you dont take care of yourself. I’ll fix whatever I can, but what you do to you is your business, not mine.” He then moved in close so that he was less than a foot from Mwezi’s face. “But I swear to all the gods in heaven, Warren… you ever let your emotions overrule your brain like you did back there again… I will shoot you myself. You could’a gotten you, me, Taggart… everybody… killed running around like that, not paying attention. Not f%$@ing smart. And you’re supposed to be smart.”
Kane, CMO
Mwezi met Kane’s gaze as he spoke, a low growl building in his throat before he could stop it doing so. “I am led more by instinct than humans. More primitive, I suppose. I lost my mind down there and yes, I will try not to do so again, but feel free to shoot me if I do so.” He let his teeth show more than he usually did around aliens, leaning forward slightly and grin/growling at the man. “I’m not a human, Kane. I don’t function the same way you do, psychologically. And I’m not smart. I’m a soldier, not a scientist. Anyways, I was paying attention. Just not paying attention to you. I was hunting. And I killed one of those d@mn Werewolves the captain kept calling me…” He leaned back, losing the snarl but keeping the lack of respect he’d gotten in his attitude.
Mwezi
OOC: Galdor is getting some renovations on culture and stuff. One of the changes is I’m getting rid of the stupid Galdori-dont-use-contractions rule.
Kane didnt move. He kept his eyes on Mwezi. “Soldiers care about the unit, not just the leader. Remember that the next time you decide to put all of us at risk because you can’t keep it together.” and he leaned back and started to walk away, but then turned back and said “And no, you aren’t human. And no, you dont function psychologically the same way we do… but we suck as a species. Maybe you should take a step back and show us how a society built from completely disparate sub species can work together, huh? That starts by being part of the team… not just Taggart’s body guard.” and he spread his hands out to his side and shrugged. “There’s more to this place than one person, Warren. And down there? Everyone needed you… and you dropped us for one guy. If he was awake, even Taggart would tell you you screwed up. You best remember that.” and he turned and walked off and into his office.
