Kane tapped his glass to Mwezi’s and just said “Drink.” and took a healthy swig. Clenched teeth and the intake of breath through them was the only indicator of the potency of the delicious nectar.

About this time the new Executive Officer walked into the lunch room looking for a snack.

Kane saw the figure standing and shook his head, his hair sliding back and forth across his face. “That the new guy?” he asked no one in particular. He then murmured “Still needs his physical…” and something lower about people who dont check in when they are suppose to, but the exact words were lost to the glass of bourbon.

Will blinked as he turned around slightly to look at the person he was referring to “Perhaps he learned that you are, as you say, not a doctor” He said calmly swirling his drink “And decided against following protocol.” he said in a tone that didn’t indicate any humour.

“If he doesnt have to follow it, I guess protocol isnt that important, then.” and he smiled sarcastically at the CSO and took a drink.

Will contemplated the comment for a moment “Or the fact that he doesn’t follow protocol shows its importance” He swirled the drink three times before taking another small sip “Perhaps he simply wishes to test how you’ll react or if you will in fact react. It could be construed as a dare of sorts”
