Chris woke up and tried sitting up which was an instant thing he regretted. Grabbing his stomached doubling over once more and crying out in pain. “OOOWWWWWW! What the Crap?”
A figure of a pure looking nobleman seemed to materialize in front of Chris. “I would suggest that you stay down....Chris....is it? You have lost a lot of blood and are paler looking then even I. You have two choices Chris.” He smiled again and licked his finger tips one by one. “You can either die which is about to happen very, very soon even without my intervention. Or you can die and be reborn? The choice might be yours, but I will let you decide.”
“Who are.....you?” Chris barely managed to get out before closing his eyes and his breathing became shallower. Sweat and tears were pouring down his face.
“I think you better make your choice Lord Taggart”. He said calmly and snarky. “You do not have much time. If I know one thing in this world it is death and it is knocking at your door.”
Chris mustered all of his might to try to sit up and look the nobleman in the eyes and got halfway up before collapsing again. “Ohh…Ahhhh.!” He was in agony and just managed to say before falling unconscious and breathing his last breath. “I.....won’t......give..you the satisfact.........” The comment faded out as did Chris and after a few moments his chest stopped rising.
The Count licked his fingertips again in anticipation as one of his servants brought him a clean white cloth which he took in preparation for his feast. “A pity he didn’t choose for himself. I want a strong army, and one like him will be powerful. But not as powerful as if he had chosen for himself.” He then looked at the servant. “Go prepare his chambers and get ready to welcome my new Commander of the army of undead.” He licked his fangs again and smiled as the servant bowed and left to perform his duties.

(((Alteration to story made with gm permission.. it was noted the doctor isn’t a miracle worker. He can’t cure “dead”, so instead of vampire,
captain severely injured but recovered in time … hehehe)))[O]Roger that doctor. [O] They all materialized where Kane instructed and in a circle facing out.

Bridie had taken short straw apparently and her back was to the Keep as they arrived. Her gaze checking the space between them and the village far below before spinning to help cover them as they prepared to move forward. “Ok Zi… this is your show. What’s next?” She smiled at him unwilling to let the arrogant Doctor be the one she followed. Mwezi seemed more than capable of letting them know what they needed to do to coordinate the attack and the rescue.
Bridie
CEMwezi looked at the Chief Engineer with an odd expression, then nodded slightly. “Move in,” he muttered, his accent thick. “I can smell him…” He rushed forward, trusting his fellow senior officers to catch up as he stopped about twenty meters later to re-evaluate his position and possible modes of entry into the castle.

Kane looked around and said “Easy. Rushing in there just gets us all killed. They are faster and stronger than us, right?” and he cast a glance at the CE. “So we have to be smart… and by all the gods we have to be quiet.”

Bridie had started to run after the wolf man but paused, looked at Kane, and smiled. “Then I guess we better stop talking… hadn’t we.” She wasn’t close enough to be toe to toe to him, but the expression on her face and inflection in her words gave that impression. She caught his eyes and refused to look away first.

Kane looked at her and shook his head. Now wasn’t the time for stupid games. He looked at where Mwezi had stopped and motioned everyone to follow. When he got close, he shoved the big biped to get his attention, not move him. “Easy. Be smart. Get your mind right. You let your emotions control you here and you go barreling in there, we all die. And that means Taggart does to. You understand me, Mwezi?” and he looked him right in the eyes, making sure the Laleri was on the same page.
