The report was in his morning briefing:

Incident Report
Time: 2435
Location: Officer’s Quarters, Deck 3, CMO’s Quarters

At 2435, Security patrols were alerted to a series of noises from inside the quarters assigned to Lieutenant Kane, Chief Medical Officer. Upon arrival, patrol heard sounds of disturbance from inside. Security overrides were used on the locked door. Inside was found the berthing room’s assigned occupant. The room was in a state of total disarray, and some items were broken. Occupant was bleeding from his right hand. On site appearance was that occupant had caused the scene. Occupant was argumentative and hostile… so normal. Occupant refused to be taken to Sickbay. As the CMO, occupant was allowed to stay in his quarters only after producing medical kit and treating his injury. When asked why the occupant had cause so much ‘disorder’ in their living space, patrol was to ‘Stay in your f^#$ing lane.’ Patrol assessed scene, no others present. Occupant was told to keep it down and clean up the mess. Patrol learned new swear words and insults. Occupant finally agreed and patrol resumed duties.

Chris was in his quarters when the alert came to him. He looked at it in disbelief and quickly got up and ran to Kane’s quarters. He pressed the chime before he realized he was in his boxers only.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

There was an obvious delay, then the door slid open to reveal Kane’s tattooed body wearing, ironically, only boxers as well (Kane’s being a vibrant plaid pattern). His hair looked as if the man had just woken up, as did the rubbing of his eyes. “Taggart. Whatchu want? Its freakin’ early.”

“I’m sorry. But I got a report that you hurt yourself. You want to talk about it? We can get some coffee and breakfast?”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Kane held up a bandaged hand and said “I’ll fix it in a bit. Nothing major.” and he looked down at Taggart and himself. “Well, we could. But shouldn’t you be wearing… oh, I dunno… pants?”

Kane, CMO

“Ya well so should you. Besides, I’m the captain. Let’s get something to eat and talk. And fix that hand better or I will. Let’s go.” Chris just turned and went to the turbolift and waited.
