Chris was in his room wearing a tan dress pant and a black Starfleet medical polo which showed off his cybernetic arm. He mainly wore long sleeves and gloves so no one would notice but he wanted her to know him, the true him. His room was clean and in it was a bunch of stuff from the 20th century Earth. Pictures of Pinhead, Pumkinhead, Elvira and other horror items. Of course there were more cubes here and all were covered. He had bottle of French Pinot Noir that was 80 years old and he opened it allowing it to breath before being served. Tonight was going to be special he thought to himself. Tonight he would test himself in a different capacity. A test of being able to let go and love again. He can only hope. He looked at the wall cron and noticed the time. “Darn. She’ll be here any minute.” He went over to the mirror to check himself over one more time.

Bridie showed up in a blue legging and skirt set with an off the shoulder dress top.(*) She was smoothing the skirt and trying to get up her nerve before she palmed the chime. She was going to watch a holo with him that was an old Earth Horror. She understood the concept, though because she hadn’t delved into it more than in vague references, she didn’t have his passion.

She just hoped she didn’t dissapoint.

She palmed the chime to announce her arrival and her hand rose to her hair. Being an off shift for them, she had chosen to come a bit more comfortably than uniform. She had hoped to at least catch his eyes when they were watching the holo. But she had also figured it was going to be a shipwide event. It made her pleased to no end that she saw the comm this morning was an invitation to his quarters. One more smoothing to the front of her outfit and she waited for the call to enter.

Chris rushed over and opened the door. He looked speechless. “Uh..um.. Come in. Please. You look amazing!” He had a big smile on his face.

“Please have a seat anywhere you’d like and I’ll bring over the wine and cheese and crackers.” He was amazed at how pretty she looked.

“Thanks…” she said, looking at him with an approving smile. “Being out of uniform, you cut a nice vision, yourself. Relaxing suits you.” She moved towards the couch, slid her boots off and set them off to the side. Before sitting down though, she moved about the room a bit, her hand hovering barely over a small row of a partial collection of the boxes. “It’s amazing. Are they all different, or merely the same cubes or few cubes with different sides showing?” Bridie paused as a picture of pinhead. Her head tilted slightly as she tried to work out how the head became covered in the sharp objects. “If a headache for me feels like pins and needles, I wonder what one feels like to him?” She let out a soft chuckle before turning around to look at him from across the room.

Chris laughed a bit. “Thanks but relaxing is something that a captain cannot do very often.” He brought over the plates of crackers and cheeses and then went back for the wine and brought over the glasses and sat them side by side on the coffin shaped coffee table. He sat down on the couch next to where she was before she got up. “Those cubes are all the same but different sides are showing. ALL of them are signed and mean a lot to me. I guess they shouldn’t since they are inanimate objects but its the love of horror I have and the only things that have never left me.”

He took a bit of a piece of cheese to clean his palate before the wine. “Well you are about to see how he got such a headache.” He laughed. “Have you not seen any horror movies before? What are your favorite movies if I may ask?”
