Given that this ship is set in an alt time and different universe, i guess chernov won’t be able to interact

Not exactly true, there are plenty of opportunities for stories people can do with time travel, current timeline ship writers running a story with a chernov crew member with an ‘ancestor’ of their current character and the like, we just need to get creative, and the alt timeline bit becomes a fun feature rather than a barrier. The Chernov still operates in the same space so much of the info will still be mostly relevant as well, plus, you all have just as much ‘right’ to have input and a say in the Fleet as anyone else, we are all members of the Meridian Fleet.
