Mwezi stood outside the Captain’s Quarters. He’d checked to make sure Chris wasn’t on duty, and had sent a message a few hours ago suggesting the two of them got together for a drink, and perhaps some cards. Hopefully the Captain was amenable to that course of action.

OOC: I looked at this a few times before I realized that I was the Captain! I thought I was on another ship at first! Lol

IC: Chris did recieve the message and thought it odd that Mwezi wanted to drink and play cards but thought that he was just trying to be more human like and learning different things. Plus he was bored as well. When he was the CMO he could hang out with whomever he wanted to but now that he was the Captain, that was a whole other story.

He got the cards and poker chips together and some good ole straight rye whiskey from Kentucky. He checked the wall clock and thought that Mwezi should be here any time so he went to the door to open it and check down the hall. “Oh! Hey Mwezi! You’re right on time as usual. Come on in. I got everything at the table ready. On the little table is the food and liquor. Help yourself. I got food that I see you eat more than a couple times thinking that that was ok since maybe you liked it. I hope that’s cool?”

Mwezi stepped inside with a smile and lifted up a bottle made of a dark glass. The bottle made a sloshing sound when he moved it. “A favorite drink of mine from Galdor. Na’urthah. You probably do not want to know how it is made,” he explained, his words slightly slower and more accented than usual. “I suppose you are wondering why I wanted to have drinks and cards?”

He glanced around the Captain’s quarters and spotted the table with the food. He placed his bottle on the table and pulled a deck of oval-shaped cards from his pocket, depositing them on the table as well. “As you, I am sure, remember, I and those of my world are here on Starfleet ships in… an attempt to learn more about the Federation before my leaders commit to becoming a member. It is going well, but I have not really gotten a real feel for the more personal side of humanity and the Federation. I was hoping that I could spend some time, picking your brain as they say, and supposed that drinks, snacks, and cards would be a good staging ground for that conversation. And if not, we still have the drinks and cards.”
