Chris just got off a big conference call with the Federation and Galdor. He was very pleased to be involved in such an important task as this.

Walking out onto the bridge he saw Mwezi standing behind his chair as usual and went to talk to him.

“Good evening Lt Mwezi. Would you care to give the coordinates and orders for our next mission?” He said smiling.

Mwezi looked at the Captain with a confused expression. “Sir? I feel as though that may be difficult, given that I do not know where the next mission… is.”

Mwezi, CTO

“Ah! It’s to your homeworld and capital city. I trust you know how to get there without stopping and asking for directions?”

David stepped out onto the bridge and sat behind the nav console. “Lt? What’s our heading?”

Mwezi looked at the Captain for a moment, then went over to the Nav console. “Lieutenant Commander Malkin, if you would allow me?” He placed his hands on the console and typed in the navigation coordinates, then stepped back to allow Malkin to engage on his own time.

William stood from his console and walked to the middle of the Bridge “We get to visit Galdor?” He seemed moderately interested in their unusual destination “We finally get to see the mysterious homeland of our Weapons Officer.” He said without a smile.

Mwezi stood behind the Captain’s chair, letting a small smile crack his normally stoic features. “About a year ago, we did visit my planet. Perhaps that was before your time on the Chernov?”

“That is correct Will. We will see Galdor again, but some of you will see it for the first time. I’m more of an adventurous outdoorsman type. Rivers, woods, mountains. To me Galdor is a type of destination that rivals Riza. But without all those darn tourists and sea monsters.” He said absentmindedly touching his eye patch and abruptly stopped talking.

Kane came onto the bridge and walked past everyone to the Science station. Almost pushing the Ensign on duty out of the way, the newly christened CMO looked at the readings and then glared daggers at the young Andorian. Gritting his teeth, he turned back and jabbed the controls like they had caused him some personal affront and then looked at the Ensign. “I swear to all that is holy if you ever… and I mean ever… decide to run a full diagnostic on the lab that is set as overflow for Medical without saying anything, I will make sure your next physical is the most painful moment in your career.” and he turned to storm away when he saw the rest of the bridge crew stopped in mid conversation.

“What? You never seen fresh fish get grilled before?”

Mwezi looked at Kane with the same expressionless mask he always gave the volatile man. “We are going to my home planet for my promotion, apparently. You are free to join us for the ceremony, if you would like to.”

David looked at the coordinates and heading. “Warp in three, two, one.” He pushed the Chernov into warp 2. “Warp two to Galdor engaged.”

William sighed and stepped over to the Science station, placing a hand on Kane’s shoulder “I know yer getting used to the whole being in charge but a few notes. You don’t humiliate an Officer in front of the Bridge crew, you don’t berate another Department heads junior Office without their DH being involved” He spoke in his usual Stoic manner, forgoing his usual chipper attitude with Kane “And don’t threaten people, yer the Chief Medical Officer, not a field medic.”

Kane leaned past the CSO and looked first at Mwezi and said “Awesome. Glad you are finally getting the recognition you deserve.” and then he looked at William. His voice was a low growl, not broadcast to the rest of the bridge “It’s not humiliation, it’s calling out what he should have already known. And I will berate anyone who ruins rushed medical lab tests and potentially jeopardizes my patient’s health, anytime and anywhere I find them. I don’t give a single care who they are.” and he leaned in close as he continued. “And if their DH had done their job and trained them right, then this wouldn’t be a conversation. And I don’t threaten. I was being absolutely honest.” and he brushed past the CSO and made his way to the turbolift.

Chris was watching and sing how this panned out. On one hand people would look to Chris for intervention but on the other Chris wanted to see how his Second Officer and his new First Officer would handle this as well. So he just watched and took in mental notes.
