Kane walked up to the doors of the CMO’s office and stopped. Taking a breath, he placed his hand on the reader and the doors slid open. Stepping through, he fought the feeling that he was wrong for being here without her. Looking around at her… now his… office was surreal. And Kane hated the surreal.

He walked over to the desk and pressed the comms. =/\= Sickbay to Ops. Send somebody up here to pack up some personal effects. Make it quick, if you don’t mind. =/\= and he sat down. Taking a minute, he exhaled for a long moment and then reached up and pulled the wild mane of hair out of his face and deftly tied it back into a somewhat presentable ponytail and jabbed a finger at the desk interface.

=/\= I need the Charge Nurse and Senior Medic in my office. Now. =/\= and he pulled the files on all the current patients in sickbay.

The charge nurse was doing inventory when she heard the call. “Great. He’s in charge now.” She muttered as she went to the office. “You wanted to see me sir?”
