“Simplest weapons to craft would be spears. We could just collect sticks and sharpen them. It’d take more time, but we could probably sharpen stones. Tear pieces off our uniform shirts to tie it together. At a certain point, a sharpened rock is any tool you need.”

Blaze looked around “I can start making rope from the plants and grass we may be able to make some bows and arrows” he said trying to be part of the solution and not be a problem anymore.

Will crossed his arms as he thought for a moment. Although they had faced some hostility before there hadn’t been too much of a direct threat and creating weapons might escalate things, it might also level the playing field. He glanced at the captain then at the first officer. He knew Taggart fairly well, how he operated and thought but Commander Keali was as much a mystery to him as the situation they were in, he didn’t know how she would go on now that she had ‘assumed’ command of the mission. “Alright well let’s see if you two can’t make some weapons, sharpened sticks and a makeshift hammer and the like.” He looked around “Commander these berries appear to be edible, our handy boys are gonna make some caveman weapons, I thought I’d try and find some water,” He called back to the Command officers.

Mwezi clambered back down the tree and reported his findings to everyone within hearing distance, finishing with, “I cannot determine the intent of the other group, it would be wise to be wary of them and ensure our safety. If I might suggest, we could bring everyone into the boughs of the trees, and ambush the other group from above if they prove to be hostile.”

From somewhere unseen the computerized voice spoke =/\= Testing observations noted, remaining on watch…=/\= It stated, whether to what the Chernov crew were doing or the nearby aliens or what was being said etc though was anyone’s guess.

“Good work Mwezi.” Chris’s said from the soft forest floor. “If it’s on with the Commander. ” his tone sarcastic. “Then commence with what your all doing. “

William walked to the Captain and crouched next to him and smiled softly “You might want to consider getting a peg leg next sir” He handed him some Berries “Here you go” He looked back and thought for a moment before turning back to the man “‘Tis only a flesh wound, right sir?” He was certain that the Captain would understand the reference, ever since he learned of the mans obsession with the Cinematic Films of the late 20th and had begun some slight research himself, if only to understand his constant references.

Chris laughed as he took the berries. “Silly man!” He said with a British accent. “I do need something to get me around though but with an arm missing as well, I can’t do very much. Once we get back, I will look into things like this do I can be of use. Right now I feel like Jabba the Hutt.”

William shook his head with a chuckle “Come on sir, We’ll get you something to walk with, maybe one of those can fashion you some sort of slide.”

Mwezi nodded, and began helping those who were there to clamber up into the safety of the trees. “Who would like to scout out the other group and see if we can get a bead on them before they know we’re here? I can do it, I have extensive experience traveling through wooded areas, as I grew up in a forest, but if someone else believes they will be a more effective scout, they are welcome to it.”

Blaze got done making a stone axe “ there this is done” he said trusting the axe into a log.

“I don’t think anyone could claim to be a more effective scout Lieutenant” William said with that uncharacteristic smile he was now wearing “But I don’t think you should go alone, I don’t have much experience at reconnaissance but I grew up with trackers on my farm and I never forget anything, I’ll go with you if you want, might give me a chance to locate some water.”

As the engineering folks were finishing up their stone spears and axes the forest around them went quiet again. Around the group the brush seemed to sway as if from movement inside it. A low gurgle was heard as their only warning before they found themselves surrounded by similar stone axe/spear wielding aliens exactly the same as those Mwezi saw earlier.

The aliens stood at roughly 6‘5 in height with a strong lizard like humanoid build showing off impressive muscular and thick hides. Up close their foreheads had a > < like ridge slopping back to a pair of demonic like horns! Their garb were leather bound with small slivers of some kind of metal woven into it. The aliens probed the air with their spears and jostled the air above their heads in some manner of communication with their axes. Speaking in an alien tongue the group could not make out without any aide from a universal translator.

The group of aliens numbered about 12 in total the leader seemed to be a large male like figure standing just off to the right from where the XO was. The right side of their face lined with four red streaks of what seemed to be remains of the berry juice the Chernov group had found edible.

Chris saw the Aliens and shook his head. “Oh for f##ks sake! Mwezi. Take command since your big and strong. They won’t listen to weak cripple like me. Commander. Use your telepathy to see if they actually mean is harm and try to let them know we mean them no harm. ” He said all this as quickly and quietly as possible.

Blaze looked at the group of aliens there weapons design were were Familiar and their leather like armor reminded him of another race. His hands was holding onto the stone axe.

OOC James you wouldn’t find anything familiar with these aliens they’re totally unknown to you if they could have been familiar i would have said so
