Kane nodded once and slid down into the unknown, his teeth clenched and one hand in a fist.

As the XO began her descent it started out in good spirits slow progress was made, but as she twisted slowly around the 2nd sharp turn taking her fully from sight of the rest of the crew and beyond anyone grabbing her now she came around the bend suddenly and found the slide dipped more sharply the sudden adjustment sent her spiraling for control. Control which she was mostly denied as one of her boots slipped from under her and sent her tumbling down faster with more and more speed!

Taiya couldn’t help but squeal as she suddenly picked up speed. As she struggled to slow down with no luck, she gritted her teeth and braced for impact.

With a sudden and quite audible, even way up the slide pipe, plop the XO landed on something grainy, wet, and rumbling. Looking down she found herself on top of some kind of alien beast standing about 7‘0 in height on four legs. Its head creepily turned almost 180 degrees to peer at its rider out of nowhere from its vantage point looking at her with 2 insectoid like eyes. The beast snorted sending phlegm and other gunk from its three nostril nose into her chest. Before it started to growl under her and she suddenly would find herself holding on for dear life by its one neck horn as it bucked and weaved around the large room she barely had a chance to take in, which was a bright white in color.

Taiya breathed a tiny and short lived sigh of relief that she had landed on something softer than the floor that she had been expecting but it quickly dissipated as the creature stared at her. “Oh sh…” she started as she was drenched in the revolting bodily fluid. As the creature began to move, she instinctively gripped on with every bit of strength she could muster which was not easy covered in alien snot. “A little help down here!!” She hollered, hoping that the team above could still hear her.

Above the others could hear the commotion and then see the bucking alien creature with the XO riding it one handed around the large room below, if she fell off or the beast decided to roll on its back she would surely be crushed!

Overhead the computer voice spoke =/\= Test 2A completed, analysis of test 2B beginning, test 2C on standby and observational status, awaiting results..=/\= it said.

Cursing under her breath, Keali started making a mental list of various ‘tests’ she would like to perform on whoever was putting them through this nightmare, most of them involving body cavities and small rabid creatures.

As Kane slid down the tunnel after the XO the tube took a wide turn and took him again out of sight from the others, since he had not taken the precautions as the XO had his speed built up till he was moving at quite a clip where his butt was getting a little warm. As he rounded the last leg to get spit out where the XO was the tunnel slide dipped more and sent him into a roll out into the large white room where the XO was still being bucked around on the back of the alien creature. The unseen speaker overhead spoke =/\= Adjusting Test 2B with approach of variable ally. Awaiting results =/\= It said. What that adjustment was, was not clear at present.

Around him the large room was almost the size of 3 basketball courts in length and 2 in width. Roughly rectangular in shape the ceiling rose overhead to almost 10 stories in height that he could see. Small windows showed points of observation all around what seemed to be an arena like place. As he took this all in the XO still getting bucked around 50ft away was joined by one of another of the horned alien creatures off to his right by 30ft. It was currently passively watching its companion buck around the XO, before turning its attention to Kane. Its beady large insect like eyes seemed to each blink with multiple lids twice before it snorted pawing the ground. Whether it was going to charge him or something else was anyone’s guess.

Taiya looked between Kane and the second creature, knowing they had a couple of seconds at best before it decided what to do. Wrapping one arm around the creature’s horn as tightly as she could, she reached out her free hand to Kane. “Up here!” She commanded, hoping that would be the safest place for him rather than being trampled under one of the massive beasts.

“What’s happening?” William yelled down the slide, the sounds were oddly familiar yet too distant for him to discern.

Kane stared at the creature pawing and snorting in front of him, and cast a quick glance at the XO on the back of the other. Slowly shaking his head in the negative, Kane stood up to his full height and outstretched his arms, not taking his eyes off the riderless beast. Making himself as big as he could he picked a single eye and stared at it, his jaw clenched and his eyes unblinking, but not moving or flinching. He was simply trying to see if the thing would hesitate, as some animals do if presented with a target that doesn’t run. And if it did charge, he was prepared to roll out of the way away from it and the XO’s current amusement park ride.

Kane, Tac / Med

The 2nd horned animal snuffed and kept its eyes locked on Kane. Pawing the ground again it reared up on its hind legs before flopping back to all fours as if trying to intimidate him.

Meanwhile the XO lost her chance to get Kane on board as she was ridden across the large room to an area she noticed had several small pillars rising in various heights off the floor from 2-8ft in height and 1-3ft in width. The beast was currently heading for an arch of the beams that if she didnt duck or hop off would probably do the job for her.

As Taiya saw the beam in front of her she didn’t fancy her chances of being trampled underfoot so holding on as tight as she could, she flattened out on the creature’s back and braced herself for impact in case she didn’t quite clear the arch.

She hoped Kane was ok but she couldn’t see him anymore. “Try and get up high!” She hollered back to him, not even sure if he could hear her.

Commander Keali (XO)

Kane heard but didn’t respond. Instead he kept his body as large as he could and when the creature snorted and reared up, Kane (rather than being intimidated) simply leaned forward slightly and grunted himself; not in a way that (he hoped) the beast would take as a challenge. But simply in way that would hopefully make it think that he was more problem than easy target.
