Captain Stovik

“There aren’t a particularly high number of inhabited planets within a reasonable distance at low warp,” Zish spoke. “But for those that are, well… we get along rather well with them, actually. With such diversity on our own sphere, finding common ground with alien species has been surprisingly easy. Even your Federation, we met on rather good terms. Galdor’s own starships have actually had some rather positive interactions with a group called the Klingon Empire as well, which I have heard is on rather unfortunately negative terms with the Federation,” Zish reflected.

Mwezi

Stovik raised an eyebrow at the description of the Klingons.”Indeed, the Klingons are usually very imperial and more interested in conquering and acquiring new territory. I would advise care and wariness in your interactions with them.”

Captain Stovik

“The Hatriku get along with them rather well. They are not totally focused on conquering as you seem to assume. Their culture is based upon honour, and honour in battle is their primary source,” he explained with a small smile. “In pursuit of that honour, there exists quite a lot of conquering. But having proven our culture contains warriors with just as much mettle in battle as their own warriors, they are rather content with not invading us,” he chuckled.

Stovik nodded though he mused to himself it could just be that this planet did not have anything that the Klingons wanted or considered valuable enough to bother with the attempt. He did not say so though. “Do you have pacts or trade agreements with other planets?” He asked curiously instead.

Captain Stovik

“We have some,” Zish spoke with a nod. “We wonder if those agreements will be able to stand, if we were to join your federation,” the alien said, tilting his head lightly.

“As long as they are either neutral or Federation members, I would assume so. ” Stovik said as he sipped some fruit juice.

Captain Stovik

Zish nodded, “Of course, captain,” he said with a slight smile. This would be helpful news for the council.

“It is very nice to meet you, mister Chris Chris Taggart, my name is Kula,” the alien said with a smile, her tail wagging. The lupine alien female withdrew her hand after a vigorous shake. “It is a day,” she said, tilting her head, “for you, but for me it is very late evening. We keep non-synchronous schedules on SkyBase, to keep ourselves in sync with the various regions of the planet. Not everything happens at once down there, you see,” she said.

“Just call me Chris. Very nice to meet you Kula.” Chris’s eyes widened. “Wow! That must be hard to adjust to? I guess you get used to it after awhile. You must be tired? If so, don’t let me keep you from getting some rest.”

“You are an officer of the earth ship. I am a scientist. I study the effect of microgravity on plant life in the non-grav portions of SkyBase,” she added. “I’m sure you will be shown that portion in your tour, if it is provided!” she said with a smile.

OOC: with a wolf?
OOC: Why not? Kirk had worse and weirder!

IC: “Fascinating! I am not a true scientist but I am a trained medical doctor and surgeon. I am now the ships first officer. I was recently promoted.” He adjusted his eye patch a bit. Out felt off center.

“We have to grow our own plants on ships for food, especially on the colony ships. I…er..We would be very interested in learning what you have done so far and would be willing to trade data and learn from each other. We use a variety of methods to make them grow, like less gravity, different colored lights and certain rays to make them grow better and more efficient. I for one would love to visit your facility, especially if you give the tour.” He took a sip of his drink and looked at her eyes.

The female tilted her head slightly. “Congratulations on your promotion,” she said, tail wagging slightly. “A first officer, is that the highest rank on your human ships?” she asked. She’d noticed as they came in that this human had taken a posture of respect towards the Vulcan who had come with him, but wasn’t certain. Galdori had many ships with mixed crew, but the highest command staff was nearly always of one race.

Mwezi

Chris gave a slight bow and smiled. “Thank you very much. But no. I am not the highest ranking person on the ship. I’m the second highest ranking. I am in second command of the Federation vessel.” He pointed towards the Captain. “Captain Stovic, a Vulcan, is the highest ranking individual on the ship. But technically speaking, I am the highest ranking human on the vessel. See, We are a conglomeration or mixture of different races and species of the many worlds that belong to the Federation. If your world joins us then I foresee one of you all commanding a vessel like the one we have in about 10 years or so.”

He looked around them back at her. “So what do you do to have fun around here? What or where do you go in your off duty time? I’d like to try that.” He smiled again at here.

“When we might be particularly bored, we enter the mind chamber,” Kula said to the human with a smile. “Do you have a mind chamber on your Earth vessels?” she asked.

Mwezi

Chris looked confused for a moment and repeated war she said. “Mind Chamber? I don’t know what that is to compare it to anything we have. Sounds very interesting. What is it?”
It really did sound interesting to him. He took a couple more bites of his food and a sip of his drink some he waited for a response.
