It was at this point the Chernov neared Deep Space K-7 when they had a hail from the station beeping at the comm station.

William turned to face the viewscreen. He tapped the chair comm [O]Bridge to Captain, we have arrived. K-7 is hailing[O] He straightened his uniform “Open Channel” He said in the command voice hed been forced to develop.

CSO

Chris pressed the com button on his desk. [O] Understood. I’m in the middle of something right now. Please handle the message. We’ll be done soon. [O]

Mwezi stepped onto the bridge, replacing the ensign on duty at the weapons station, and sat down in the chair. His height and muscle combined to make the small chair groan slightly, his ears twitching slightly at the sound.

The Chief Weapons Officer tilted his head slightly as he listened to the CSO in his conversation with the K-7 station.

Mwezi, Security Chief

”..USS Chernov this is Deep Space K-7 on your approach please dock at docking bay 9a for resupply and prepare your senior staff for a mission briefing from Commodore Flynn.” The message said from an NE who came on the screen.

William nodded “Understood K-7, see you in a bit” He said in his normal stern polite tone “Helm, slow down to docking speeds, adjust course for Docking bay 9a.” He spun around “Comms, inform senior staff of the Mission briefing with Commodore Flynn. We will Embark as soon as possible. Send a general message that we will be docking and resupplying with K-7” He spun the chair back to face the viewscreen, tapping the chair he opened the Comm [O]Bridge to Captain, We’ve started docking procedures, the senior staff has been informed of Mission Briefing with Commodore Flynn[O] The young man informed the Captain.

CSO, 2O

At ops, Reid coordinated with helm on getting them safely into dock. “If you don’t mind, you were .94 seconds late on the aft thruster lift. It didn’t cause any damage, but it creates a slight fuel inefficiency.” When no reply came, He rose from his station and was relieved by Ensign Yelchin.

[O] Roger that. We will be out shortly. [O]

Captain Chris Taggart CO

And with that the Captain and XO came out onto the bridge. He stood behind Grey and put his hand on his shoulder as if to stay there and don’t bother getting up.

He looked at the helm and got an idea but it will have to wait until they left.

William made an almost instantaneous movement to get out of the chair but was stopped by the Captain. Barely managing to stop himself from audibly sighing he simply turned his head slightly “Docking procedures have begun, We should be able to start resupply momentarily. Do you want to beam over or walk?” He asked.

CSO - 2O

Chris looked down away Grey. “I got it for now Commander Grey. I just don’t want to sit down right now so there is no need for you to get up.”
He smiled and patted Grey’s shoulder. He thought about the question for a moment then responded.

“Walk. I watched a movie once where everyone was beaming and this important guy, like a President or something, was beamed from his office to the bridge and when he materialized his head was on backwards. Snotty, had to reverse the beam and the president had to walk to the bridge normally anyway. But at least he was ok. So I will walk. How about you all? Walk or beam?”

Captain Chris Taggart CO

“Statistically, the incidence of injury, mild or severe, is much more likely while walking than during a transport. The odds of having your head reversed and surviving are infinitesimal…” a trademark Reid silence. “But walking’s fine.”

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

Chris smirked. “It was a joke Chief. Don’t be such a Dr. Roboto all the time. ” He smiled.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Entirely counter to the point he was trying to make, Reid corrected the Captain. “Mr Roboto. Styx, Kilroy Was Here, 1983.” The idea that he was more similar to the ship’s computer than any of her crew was quick to spread.

-Dr Alex Reid, CE

Chris looked over again at the Chief. “Yes. Mr. Roboto. Thank you for the correction. Dr. Robotnic!” He smiled at his arcane sense of humor.

Keali smiled as she listened to the banter and finally nodded. “After 9 hours on a shuttle, I could use a walk…” she agreed, already feeling her muscles stiffening up from being cooped up on the journey over.

Commander Keali (XO)

If the crew was so concerned of the dangers of walking or transport they could just hail the station for the briefing here too.
