Alex had been very content at his last post, senior but not chief. Now the young, withdrawn Lieutenant was going to have to command. He fidgeted with the sleeves of his uniform as he walked towards the Captain’s office, hoping to find him there. When he arrived, his hand hovered over the door chime a moment. First impressions weren’t exactly his specialty. He pressed the button and waited to get it over with.

Chris was thinking the same thing as the CE when he heard the chime. “Fireblast! I’m not ready!” He muttered. Looking around he realised it couldn’t be helped. With a reluctant sigh he yelled “Come! At your own risk!”

When Alex walked in he would see the captain sitting on top of his desk in only his underwear. His uniform was folded on his chair and he had no right arm or left leg on. They were on the desk while he tried to adjust them. He had only one bright blue eye and the other covered by an eyepatch. The eyepatch was black and in white small letters said, “Kiss the Captain”.

The office was neat and tidy and had puzzle box cubes all over the place, each under a dome of glass. Most had signatures on them. One was covered with brown wrapping paper and had a red wax seal on it to keep it closed. That one was on his desk. Behind him was a four foot tall glass tube with what looked like a half eaten human leg that also appeared to have been ripped off the body in a clear water type solution.

“Ummm. Hello Lieutenant. I was having problems with my cybernetic limbs and they were hurting me. I took them off to adjust them thinking I’d have some alone time......I was wrong. But since you’re here, what can I do for you?”
