: : : : : : : Ha’ge entered the medical bay swiftly and without announcement, a handful of engineers trailing him with their fellows in arms either assisting or being assisted in transport. Have understood none were lost in the jaunt from engineering to medical. All the better, as Chi was quickly decompensating in his arms. Making his way to the first available biobed, Ha’ge gently eased his sisters battered body atop the sterile sheets and began to cut off her uniform top to expose the area of her rib cage. Without turning from the angry expanding purple section of what should have been tanned skin, Ha’ge addressed two nurses that had been hovering near him since his return.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “NE Rand, vitals read out. NE Thamkor, fun a blood panel. We need a transfusion, and her blood type is AB positive. Move quickly.”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : Chi couldn’t move. Her body felt numb, her mind far away from her injuries and her pain. Distantly she could feel Ha’ge’s.... fear? Upset? Chi snickered to herself at the thought of how she would rib the Vulcan for those emotions later. Ugh. No pun intended. Chi worried for the first time about her ability to tease her brother in person. What would happen if she didn’t make it? Ha’ge has to keep going, she knew he would. He HAD to. Bronson.... she never got to have an actual talk with that idiot. Loring… if she survived for any reason, it was going to be to punch that four eyes in the nose. And then ask him what he’d done to her engineering bay… oh gods… the naecell… her friends. How could she even look her fellow crew in the eye? If she was the reason those engineers died…
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : The flurry of activity did not cease or slow at the Vulcan’s familiarity with Chi. Most of the nurses had began a betting pool on the doctors and their love lives aboard the ship, many of which assumed Chi to be Ha’ges lover instead of sister. Either way, Ha’ge paid prying eyes no mind.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : NE Rand read out Chi’s vital signs as Ha’ge removed the rest of Chi’s uniform shirt with surgical scissors.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “BP 160/102, heart rate 12, breathing is impair by 73% and climbing.”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Ha’ge considered this a moment. Cushings triad. Decompensated hemmoragic, possible hemothorax.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “NE Thamkor, status of transfusion materials?”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : The male nurse looked from his place at the medical panel, his face gone pale with worry.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “Sir, with majority power lost transfusion materials have been exposed to heat. Unusable, Sir, the whole lot.”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : Chi felt a surge of panic from Ha’ge. That couldn’t mean well.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Ha’ge took pride in his hold on logic, but in a moment of weakness heard himself mutter a curse imperceptably. He promised their father he would protect Chi, and illogical as it was Ha’ge felt this was not as it should be. Silently, the Vulcan male considered his options quickly. Chi had minutes before the pressure squeezing her lungs would have to be allieved, and only minutes more before that relief caused her to bottom out and her system to crash. He had to save his Ko-Kai.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : New determination at hand, Ha’ge stepped back and over to the sink beside Chi’s bio bed, washing his hands with anti-microbial as he spoke.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “NE Rand, assist me into the surgical gown. NE Thamkor continue with efforts toward transfusion materials. We must relieve Officer Matier’s lungs first.”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : NE Rand moved quickly to assist the doctor in putting on a surgical down and sterile gloves, slipping his goggles on with practiced ease. Ha’ge did not notice the young woman’s fingertip brush his ear and how it made her blush. He moved quickly and silently to Chi’s bedside, speaking in even tones to NE Rand as she donned much the same gear and joined Ha’ge at his side.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Together the doctor and nurse created a shunt for Chi’s blood, carrying it from the place where it pooled in her abdomen and through a series of tubes and a filter returned back into Chi via a central line. This would keep Chi at a baseline while Ha’ge began surgery to find and close whatever internal bleed Chi possessed.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : Chi mentally screamed as the first feeling her body allowed her was searing pain in her side. Logic told Chi it was the shunt Ha’ge inserted into her side to relieve her thoracic pressure. Non-logic told her that it hurt like a b*tch. Chi wanted to move away from the pain, wanted to scream and escape but her form was held fast. Thankfully Chi could feel Ha’ge at the other end of the familial bond reading her pain. A warm quiet quickly washed over her mind as Ha’ge inserted painkiller into the Pickline at Chi’s arm. Reaching out from her end, Chi tried to be as clear as she could.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : {Brother… Sa-Kai..... thank you.... I’m sorry.... it’s going to be alright…}
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : “NE Thamkor?”
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Ha’ge did not look up from his ministrations as he finished the circulation shunt, but his tone had more hope than should have been allowed for a Vulcan male of his age and training. Shame would have filled him but his mind raced to keep his hands steady.

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : Chi felt the darkness envelop her mind for the second time that day and this time, knowing her brother was watching over her, went into it peacefully.

: : : : : [O] Scott to Sickbay how’s Chi doing [O]
: : : : :
: : : : : Lt. Scott CE
: : : : :
: : : : NE Thamkor intercepted the message before the ensign could answer the doctor’s unspoken question. Silently holding out a comms device, NE Thamkor used the action as her form of an answer. She wasn’t sure of what was going to happen, but things did not look well for the doctor’s girlfriend.
: : : : :
: : : : Ha’ge quickly shufled one bloody glove off of his hand and then the second, taking the comms device and returning the communication sent to the medical bay. His tone, despite his rising internal panic and following shame, did not display any outward distress.
: : : : :
: : : : [O] Chief Engineer Scott, Officer Matier’s injuries are substantial. We require a supply of type AB positve blood and plasma that we do not have curently on board due to damage from the ship and require a donor… as well as a replication device, if possible. [O]
: : : : :
: : : : -JO Ha’ge
: : : :
: : : Ha’ge set aside the communication device a moment before considering his next action. logically, the man would have many things besides Chi to worry about. Looking over to Chi’s mentally silent and prone form helped Ha’ge solidify his decision. Taking up the communication device once more, Ha’ge sought Officer Bronson’s hail and began to write a memo to the officer as Ha’ge thought it best not to clog the verbal lines with chatter.
: : : :
: : : //Officer Bronson, apologies for communicating about non work issues at this dire time. Chi is gravely injured. As you and she seemed close, I thought it prudent for you to be informed.//
: : : :
: : : Further explaining that Chi required a full cycle of donated blood and the complications, Ha’ge finished his memo solemnly.
: : : :
: : : //I would ask that if it were in your power to do so, or that if you know a means of donor, that you save my ko-kai. Please save my sister.//

: : OOC: Your posts are phenomenal guys but I do have to comment that you need to let other departments play their parts instead of playing for them. You have played the Medical NE’s here and not allowed the CMO to play with you guys. It is important for us all to remember even in the excitement of the moment to allow our fellow crew to play with us so no one is left out. It is more fun for everyone then.

A flicker at the comm system indicated a reply message for Bronson.
Sister? Well that’s news! The ship is in trouble, it’s in a bad way. I am on my way to Engineering and will come to medical if I get the chance, though I do not know how I could help. Keep her alive Ha’ge. I’m sorry she’s been hurt. I’ll do my best.

: The area for Sickambay seemed to feel like the occupants haf been breathing helium. Slowly, the gravity in the area quit working and instruments starting moving from their normal locations. The occupants all now floating in the now weighless enbironment as a klaxon alerted them to what they already knew.

OOC: Sorry about delayed posting! This seems like an interesting sim. :)
IC: “What is going on, Doctor?” T’Aria noticed the sudden disperse of gravity, as the systems were either deactivated or malfunctioning. She glanced at the alarm, well aware as to what they were intending to convey, but it was only obvious information to her. The Doctor surveyed the room, before making her way to the nearest comm system, it was not an easy task, but it was necessary. =^=T’Aria to Lieutenant Scott, what is going on with the gravitational systems? I cannot have my patients nor my staff aimlessly floating about, while attempting to heal.=*= If She were human, she might have been heavily annoyed. However, she was not, so it remained only the inflectionless concern.
