Shortly after leaving sickbay after his boarding medical Alex arrived outside the XO’s office , this was the last thing he had to do before he could concentrate on settling in to the USS Chernov.

He did one last check of his uniform, when he was satisfied with how he looked , he rang the chime and waited

From outside the office, Alex could here a voice call out from the other side.

“Come in!”

With that Alex entered the room

“Lt Alexander Mercer reporting for duty Sir”

He said stopping at a reasonable distance from the XO’s desk

Will looked up from his desk, a steaming pot of coffee sat on it.

“Ahh, our new Chief Operations Officer,” he said, standing up. “Welcome to the Chernov,” he continued, extending out a hand.

“I trust the journey was plain sailing.”
