My dear friends,

It pains me that I must seek to relinquish command. I am sorry, but real life is far too busy and demands too much of me to allow me to be a commanding officer and lead this ship. The Chernov has been my home for over five years. I’ve made friends here. I’ve grown as a writer and in my real life work and engagements through your interactions and your patience with me. I love my character Kastarak who I’ve nurtured and explored these years. And I love all the characters I’ve interacted with in these years. I am grateful for all storylines and amazing things that have happened.

I am sorry to let you down. But this ship has had in recent time two commanding officers unceremoniously removed. I will stay on until a stable captain can take over. I’ve spoken to the President who will take charge of the recruitment.

I will stay in the club, and will try figure out a way for me to save Kastarak and for me to stay on on this ship one way or another.

I’m so sorry to see that you have to step down, Richard. You’ve been a great CO and I’ve enjoyed having you as CO. But glad you may stay around in some capacity:)

I am sorry that you have to step down, but I do understand real-life issues well. I do hope you can keep Kasarak around. I have enjoyed our arcs that we have had. You have done amazing things on the ship and all the way around.

Thanks man. I appreciate that. I’ve really enjoyed exploring our arcs together, and I’d hate to bring an end to them. I won’t kill Kastarak off! I need a break from command, real life being what it is… Once there’s a new CO in place, I’ll discuss with them/her/him about what role I might be able to continue to play. I don’t want to give the new CO full command, and I’d hate to be a backseat driver.

Sorry to hear you’re stepping back - I’ve really enjoyed RPing with you. However, I know the challenges of RL, and how you can easily find yourself not being able to keep up with everything you would like to. Being able to recognise it, and also admit it, is never an easy thing.

We’ll find a way of keeping your chair warm!
