Shortly after T’sol received orders to come on board the Chernov, her shuttle had landed in the main shuttle bay. She had then stepped out of the shuttle. Miss T’sol was happy to have received this duty station on the fine Chernov as Chief Science Officer. As per her service record it states a lot. She had then headed towards a turbolift. As she arrived at the turbolift, she would step into it. Shortly after stepping into it, she would then spoke out. “Captains quarters.” She spoke to the computer as it closed the turbolift doors. The lieutenant would be grateful to be meeting another Vulcan as she served under some other vulcans in her past. However, this will be different. Shortly after the turbolift would take a slow stop on the deck she would be going to meet the captain at, it finally took a halt. She would finally step out of the turbolift and would start walking down the corridor as she was curious about the lighting. She would have found the captains quarters as she wasn’t sure if the captain would be there. She would step up to the door and rang the chime awaiting patiently awaiting to enter.Lieutenant T’sol
Chief Science Officer
USS ChernovAs the door swooshed open, Kastarak’s voice “Enter!” was heard.
When Kastarak saw his new crewmember, he rose from his position, lifted his right hand in a Vulcan salute, and greeted her.
“Peace and long life,” he said, “It is agreeable to meet you. Please come in, sit down.”
Kastarak, Cpt
Commanding OfficerShe also had done the Vulcan salute as well and nodded. “Peace and long life captain. It is agreeable to meet you as well captain. Captain I believe you’ve read over my service record I presume?” She asked him. “I might give you this captain. The logical statistics that my knowledge of science mostly came from the Vulcan Science Academy and Starfleet Academy and my previous postings, are high sir.” He started to explain but not in full detail.
Lieutenant T’Sol
Chief Science Officer
USS Chernov
He knew her service record. He had immediately seen the most important part of it – long before she was even in service: At the age of eleven years, she had survived the destruction of Vulcan. How was not told. He himself had been thirteen. While he had entered his first pon farr from the trauma, she had assisted in the search for New Vulcan, bringing some sense of meaningfulness in the midst of it all, yet still being a child. Within two years, she entered the reconstituted Vulcan Science Academy. Thereafter, her progression was logical in hindsight. She was a refugee child who had become a beacon of hope for her people.
“Indeed they are,” he said, noting what seemed like a “normal” Vulcan hubris from the pre-destruction days. It was refreshing, and reminded him of every-day interactions on the street or in his school of his lost red planet. Perhaps, this child of Vulcan was more Vulcan than he, and that she could help him anchor himself more in his identity as a Vulcan and as a starfleet captain.
“You come on board this ship under difficult circumstances. Former chief science officer Benjamin Grey was relieved for reasons of health, and only recently first officer T’Aria departed the ship for duties back on New Vulcan. There has been all too much instability in the pool of higher command on this ship. I trust you will help stabilize it.”
“Have you already been able to form an idea of what you wish to achieve in the science department, and in your role on this ship?”
He spoke to her like an equal, Vulcan to Vulcan, skipping all small talk.
