T’Kul was in his quarters when he got a message saying the Captain wanted to have a word with him. He headed straight to the Captain’s office. He stood in front of the door, and waited as it chimed to let the Captain know he was there.

Lt. Valharra, Security Officer

“Enter,” said Kastarak and the doors swooshed open. Kastarak rose from his seat, and made the Vulcan salute. “Peace and long life, T’Kul.”

“I have asked you here to discuss your role on the ship, and how to better use your talents. Before we do so, is there anything you wish to add as an item to our agenda today?”

I return the salute. “Thank you Sir, and no, I’ve been through a lot on this ship, and I welcome all opportunities granted to me.” Lt. Valharra states as he enters the room.
Lt. Valharra, Security Officer

“Very well,” Kastarak nodded. “Are there any specific avenues that interest you in particular?”

“I’ve noticed we don’t have a Communications officer anymore. I’ve been learning a few different languages in my time as security on this ship.” He suggested. “But I’ve also seen we need a new operations officer and my experience with security is way more in line with that.”
Lt. Valharra, Security Officer

Kastarak nodded. Valharra’s point was logical. His officer had identified needs and sought Kastarak’s advice and direction.

Kastarak thought that, perhaps, Valharra’s knowledge of an alternate future would help the ship in communication and finding other, more novel ways to communicate. As he was from another future, temporal dynamics would not be at play. Kastarak had been assured that by Starfleet Command. Moreover, Valharra had been given the confidence to stay on in Starfleet following his arrival in this timeline.

At the same time, Kastarak had a sense of conflict in the matter. But logically, this would be the best option.

“Given your unique skills and perspectives, I am currently of the mind that if I transfer you, you’d serve this ship best in communications. Your thoughts on this?” Kastarak said.

“That would be fine and logical, Sir.” Lt. Valharra responded. “I will do my best in that position, just as I have in the all the many roles I’ve had as a security officer.” He continued.
Lt. Valharra, Security Officer

Kastarak stood up to mark the solemnity of the occasion.

“T’Kul Valharra, lieutenant junior grade, I hereby transfer you to the position of communications officer of the Federation starship Chernov, effective immediately. Report to Bridge at the start of your next shift.”
