Kastarak went to the armoury, expecting to find Mr Forster there. Kastarak had been unable to go to the general recertification slots, due to bridge duties. As such, he knew he had to take measures into his own hands to make it happen.

Once at the armoury, he looked around for Mr Forster.

Ensign Forster was elbow, deep in a torpedo giving it proper maintenance “ perfect timing, sir can you hold that end up abit” he was working on replacing the targeting system for a newer up-to-date one.

Kastarak quickly leapt in, holding the intended part. The situation reminded him of his Starfleet Academy days. It was not an unwelcome experience.

“Like this, ensign?” Kastarak asked, holding it in the same angle as Forster did.

John was happy for the help “ that is perfect thank you apparently I am the only officer on duty that has ordinance certification” as John continued his work he asked “ so what phaser type do you like better the beam phaser or the bolt shot phaser”

Kastarak nodded.

“The choice must match the intended purpose,” he said. “A beam phaser allows precision and control—logical for careful tasks requiring sustained focus. The bolt-shot phaser, however, offers greater tactical efficiency and energy conservation in combat.”

As John was finishing his task, he kept asking a series of questions after six minutes he said “congratulations first Officer. He just completed the written part of your test that I just gave you verbally. The only thing left for you to do is the shooting part now” he smile with his clam relaxed voice.

“Very good, ensign” replied Kastarak, his face conveying no emotion whatsoever. He straightened his uniform and prepared to follow Forster’s instructions.
