Captain Kurkk Eldon of the Constitution had just left the comfort of her own ship and – along with her team of engineers – energized in the Chernov transporter room. With her, she had Lieutenant Augustín Zóbel de Ayala, her chief engineer, and five junior engineers (three humans, one Andorian, one Caitian – all male, except the Andorian and one of the humans), ready to be deployed wherever needed. Boxes of supplies were on the transporter floor too, mainly materials needed for quick repairs of various kinds.

Pawl got a call to report to the transporter room. He acknowledged the signal and left for the transporter room as he entered he noticed the new arrivals. “Lt Jg Pawl Batario chief engineer reporting as ordered sir.” As he snapped to as he looked at the visiting captain and his officers. “Oh, Welcome to the Chernov.” PAwl said calmly and politely as he stood at attention.

Ensign Baker of Security was there in the transporter room when the Captain materialized and Lt. Batario entered. After Batario gave his welcome, Baker stepped forward. “Welcome aboard. Ma’am.” He said, giving a nod of acknowledgment to the other officers. “My name is Ensign Reginald Baker with ship security. Lt. Dawson, our security head, currently has the bridge and so he had me come down to greet you and help you get wherever you need.”

“Thank you, gentlemen,” Eldon replied. She smiled at the officers welcoming her, but quickly turned stern. “I understand there is a crisis on board. Mr Batario, would you mind taking charge of my engineers here. I am sure you’ll get the time to introduce yourselves to each other while doing the repairs.”

Augustín Zóbel de Ayala left the transported pad and introduced himself to Batario, “Lieutenant Zóbel de Ayala, chief engineer of the Constitution. These are ensigns Kax, Abdullahzai, Kalathiou and Ashruy. We’re looking forward to helping you. Where do you need repairs? You lead the way, Mr Batario. This is your turf.”

Meanwhile, Captain Eldon Kurkk turned to Ensign Baker.

“Mr Baker, please take me to the bridge. And while you do that, please report on the status of the ship, and the status of the senior staff.”

She was ready to head to the bridge.
