Tactical nodded and quickly fired the probes. The beams hit the probes and blew up. The Chernov was in the midst of the evasive maneuver when the shock waves hit causing the ship to tip further. But the fourth probe missed the beam and it hit the deflector dish straight on, destroying it and causing massive damage to the Bridge consoles. They exploded and shot sparks and electricity everywhere. Chris was sent flying into the back computer wall because he wasn’t secured in a seat. Rolling over while screaming he couldn’t find his right arm. It was torn off and his back hurt something fierce and his eye patch was missing showing his empty eye socket and the scars. Mr. Dawson took a little damage but being jolted around but was in good shape because he was secured in the Captains chair.

Storyteller

Dawson was about to relinquish the Conn when the beam hit. He held to the chair and suffered minor bruising. Taggart was severely injured. Just as Dawson was about to order them to return fire…

The turbolift doors opened and Will fell out, landing on his knees and barely catching himself with a hand on the door, his other hand held the bridge of his nose which was leaking blood, the turbulence had tossed him directly at the turbolift doors and he was sure it was broken, funny that the first time he’d actually broken something and it was a door. He looked around at the bridge crew in various states of distress and injury, saw the Captain screaming and once he was on his feet took a step towards the man but stopped and looked at the viewscreen “Status report” He said seeing the back of Dawsons head in the Captain’s chair, Kastarak was supposed to be on the bridge no the Weapons Chief so something more must have happened.

CSO, 2O

“Sir!” Dawson said, not daring to leave the Captain’s chair, “We’re taking fire from the Titan Base! Kastarak has suffered a head injury and has been transported to Sick Bay. It seems the Captain has now also suffered severe injury. Are you fit to take the Conn?” Dawson spoke as fast as he could, and added the last after seeing Will’s broken nose, and not knowing what other injuries he might have.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

William raised a hand to show he was alright, his other set his nose with a loud crack and a groan of pain from the science officer. He took in the information available “Target the location of that cannon with a spread of Photon Torpedoes, maximum yield, as soon as you see a hint of energy discharge open fire, no need to wait for orders. I want half of those to be aimed at the base” He put a hand on the arm of the Captain’s chair “Dawson man the guns I want our best shot on this, get a medic to put the Captain back together” He wiped his nose with the back of his hand wishing he had something to clean himself with. “Launch more probes and keep them between us and the cannon’s line of fire”

Dawson eyes widened slightly as the Commander reset his nose and then seamlessly shifted to command. Dawson went to take over the weapons stations and began to target both the energy canons and the base itself. From his screen, he looked for the faintest sign of hostility and he would fire immediately.

The Chernov’s second officer was tired, injured and surprisingly annoyed at the current situation but strangely he didn’t feel afraid. Or at least there wasn’t a debilitating fear making it hard to stand as so often happened during situations such as this “Open channel to that base” His voice still sounded as cold and emotionless as usual =^=This is Commander William Grey of the USS Chernov to Section 31 base, please be informed that your commanding officer has been compromised emotionally and must be removed from command, unfortunately, because we have been fired upon without provocation we must assume that he is no longer capable of rational thought and so we may be forced to use all of our considerable force to remove any threat to Earth, if you have the opportunity to seek shelter please do so. To avoid any potential collateral damage please place Malone under arrest, you have thirty seconds=^= Without a deflector dish they couldn’t warp out of there or use impulse to any degree, they’d have to get towed out of there and get to a drydock.

CSO, 2O

Dawson was amazed to see how well Grey assumed command. Admittedly, he hadn’t had too much experience with the second officer, but from what he had gathered, he didn’t seem to want to be anywhere near command. And yet, he fit it so naturally.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

Malone appeared in the view screen laughing and smiling wickedly. =/\=. Wow! I’m truly impressed that your ship is still in one piece! Grey! You’re a human and a decent officer. Surrender now and you and the rest of the humans except for Taggart and Dawson can go. And I’ve sealed the doors to this command area and no one is getting in here until I allow them. You also have 30 seconds to comply.=/\=. The screen cut out once again.

Chris stopped screaming. He didn’t want to but the pain was more than he thought. He still has searing pain running through his body since the arm was attached to nerves. Rolling over and picking up his arm he got up. Fluids, not blood dropped from where his arm used to be. Walking over to Grey and Dawson. “That hurt more than the last time it was ripped off. Does anyone know how we can get this ship out of here in the next 20 seconds or so. Because if not, I say in 10 seconds we do what Grey suggested and light them up and catch them off guard.” He didn’t want to kill or hurt any innocent people down there but he has an obligation to the crew of the Chernov.

Captain Chris Taggart CO and Storyteller

Dawson gritted his teeth at Malone’s brazen treason. His ego and command have clearly gone to his head. once he was off =Dawson was surprised to see Taggart taking back command. “I don’t think we’ll be making an escape sir,” Dawson said, “Our deflector dish is utterly decimated, so warp and impulse is offline. Unless Battario can work a miracle in the next 10 seconds, our only hope is going to be taking out that base and limping to a drydock for repairs.”
As Dawson spoke, he kept his eye on the readings from the base, ready to follow Grey’s standing order to fire at the slightest provocation, knowing Malone’s penchant for “firing early.”

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

William gripped the arms of the chair at Malone’s response “Send a message to Starfleet Command with all sensor and comm logs regarding this incident, we have a skeleton crew so the greatest loss would be the ship itself” He was distancing him from their potential deaths “Without the Deflector any stray dust could rip the ship apart” He looked at Taggart, his usually neutral expression turned grim “We don’t have time to evacuate, but it’ll take time for the torpedoes to reach their targets, the probes might take a few hits or they might not and with only thrusters…” He paused for a moment “Make sure to open fire with phasers first on the cannon, aim for any targeting systems or energy distribution nodes”

CSO, 2O

Chris nodded. “Good idea Grey. Send the message.” Turning around and pointing with his arm in his hand to tactical. “Just fire photon torpedos at the sites that those beams originated. Maximum yield. Now. Then for a focused beam using the phaser at the command room where Malone is at.”. Turning to look back at Grey. “I might know of someone that could aid us in moving The Chernov if we survive. I’ll send a message to them now.”. He went over to his chair and typed in a message to his friend Captain Chastain, pleading for help and a brief explanation of what happened.

Captain Chris Taggart CO

Dawson fired with no hesitation. photon torpedos launched at maximum yield at the energy canons and then Dawson concentrated a phaser burst at the command center. He was only vaguely aware of the conversation between Taggart and Grey as he focused on targeting the command room with minimal damage to the rest of the base. From Malone’s response, it seemed that he knew a majority of his crew were not going to stand behind him on this, and so the less collateral damage the better.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

OOC: I changed Quantum to Photon because Quantum torpedos didn’t exist yet.

IC: The rail guns were destroyed and the Command Center for the secret base was destroyed all thanks to Dawson’s expert marksmanship.

Chris looked at the destruction on the view screen. “Mr. Dawson. Good work. Please hail the base to see if Making was killed and if they need any medical assistance. Do not send any of it crew down there, beam them Cargo Bay 2. We’ll set up a emergency ER there. I’ll be there as well in a moment after Grey gets fixed up.” Chris held up his arm in his other arm to quiet Grey’s possible protest. “I’m fine now. I shut down the nerves in that area. I’ll be ok for awhile, long enough to get your nose fixed.”

William had turned sharply towards the Captain to protest but shut his mouth with an audible click “Aye, sir” He stood from the chair and walked past the Captain, placed a hand on the man’s shoulder, the one that still had an arm and whispered “At least stay seated until someone can take a look at you, Chris. I’ll check up on Kastarak in Medical” He squeezed his Captain’s shoulder and walked away.

A message popped up on his PaDD and he smiled. “Good! Chastain will be here in four hours to help us! Now we just have to pay the waiting game and survive that long. Dawson! Fire torpedos at maximum and at will if any weapons power up down there and around us as well here in orbit. There’s no telling what they have. But one thing is for certain. They didn’t have The Chernov!”. He smiled at that!

OOC: Malone is not there.

Captain Chris Taggart CO and Storyteller

Dawson gave a sigh seeing the weapons did their job. It was stressful coordinating that kind of volley. He was glad to hear that help was on the way. He didn’t like the idea of them being trapped out here, even if they still had full use of weapons, their immobility severely limited their tactical options. He kept an eye out for anything that might be hostile from Titan and also was warry of any other anomalous readings surrounding them. Taggart was right, with Section 31, you never knew what they could be dealing with.

Lt. Q Dawson, CWO

William took one look back to the Bridge, he could feel the blood starting to leak again and the pain in his nose was great, greater than he thought a broken nose could hurt. Pain was a rare thing for him only experiencing great pain twice before, this proved to be a middle ground. He’d taken command again without thought and threatened a en entire starbase because of some megalomaniacal xenophobe madman, threatening people who could be innocent of their commanders crimes just to save his own skin. He shook his head and entered the lift and went to the Medical Bay.
