Chris scheduled a time for Symar and himself with Admiral Streetimyer. He already sent out a message to Symar to meet him in his ready room and another one to the Admiral explaining everything and reassuring the good Admiral that Symar was a great officer and an even greater asset to Starfleet. It was almost time.

Symar found himself on edge for most of the day; even though he had to admit to himself that he was grateful for not having to hide his true self anymore. An important meeting with an Admiral of Starfleet’s upper brass however, was not how the Vulcan/Romulan hybrid was expecting to spend his first day of freedom. Symar was slightly reassured in a way, knowing that he had the crew of the Chernov, Captain Taggart in particular, in his corner. To that end, he arrived at the CO’s Ready Room as promptly as his duties would allow and clicked the door chime.

Seeing Symar come in Chris put up a hand to the Admiral. “Sorry sir. Our guest of honor has arrived.” He said while waving Symar to him. When Symar got into view, Chris introduced them to each other. “Admiral Streetimyer. This is Lieutenant Symar. Our Chief Medical Officer. Lieutenant. This is Admiral Streetimyer. Head of Starfleet Inductions and Education. And Chairperson of Starfleet Relations. He’ll be guiding you to be a proper member of Starfleet. I’ll leave you to it Admiral. I’ll be sitting a few feet away. Lieutenant. Please take my seat.” Chris said getting up and moving the chair for Symar to sit. Walking over to the drink cart, Chris poured himself some coffee and a special Vulcan tea that Kastarak likes, but he figured Symar wouldn’t mind and brought it over to Symar before taking a seat himself a few feet away.

The Grey haired and leathery faced Admiral smiled warmly and genuinely. “Before we begin Lieutenant Symar, I want you to know that this is being recorded so I don’t get anything wrong later. Secondly. You have nothing to worry about. You’re not in trouble and we know you’re not a spy. With Captain Taggarts testimony and punishment, you are an exemplary Officer and a vital asset to not only The Chernov, but to Starfleet as well. Do you have any questions before we start?”

Storyteller

‘Nothing at present Admiral.’ Symar replied, still slightly on edge despite the Admiral’s reassurances.

-Lieutenant Symar: Chief Medical Officer-

“Good. “I’ll need the names of your real parents and their locations. They will not be talked to, but this is needed for verification. Secondly, did you know before joining Starfleet that you were half Romulan?”

“I didn’t know my parents sir, I was kidnapped in my youth quite early on by disciples of Nero. If I’m honest Admiral, the memories are… hazy at best..”
