The evening had proven to be long, patients flowing in an out like molasses scaling a hill.. In the middle of the summer heat. To most officers, this was the most unforgiving time of the evening, where the work was slow and time was slower. Although, for T’Aria, it made no difference whether it was 0300 or 1500, it was all the same to her, in the black-and-white world she seemed famed for living in, even if that weren’t the truth. For her, this was the calmer time of her shift, where pestering officers were not claiming illness to get out of their own shifts, nor were they whining consistently about their injuries, especially since most of their patients in rehabilitation were fast asleep.Situated behind her desk, T’Aria was doing research on treating a Caitian patient. One of the NEs from the previous shift had come in with cardiac issues, after suffering a heart attack just a week before. She knew the Caitian people were incredibly suspectible to diseases and malfunctions of the heart, due to their weak, underdeveloped immune systems. However, T’Aria was doing her damndest to avoid having to make any changes to the muscle itself, understanding the initial weakness of their bodies, to begin with.
Occasionally glancing at the monitors upon the wall behind her, in order to get an overview of what was happening outside of her office, she kept an ear out for any need of assistance. Although, she trusted her doctors and nurses to be able to handle the simplicity of the evening. Returning to her research, T’Aria reached over to grasp her glass of Vulcan tea, taking a short sip of it. Setting it down, she momentarily fell into a state of motionlessness, her gaze travelling back to the patient’s file and injury report, where she returned to cross referencing the report with previous medical examinations from opposing patients, in search of similarity.
Slowly, but surely, she was forming a thesis.

CMOChris was wide awake and he had been for hours. He woke up four hours before his alarm went off for his 3rd shift bridge duty. He didn’t know why. He wasn’t having nightmares that week anyway, and his stress level has been down. He decided to take a shower and get dressed and head over to sickbay. He hasn’t been there in awhile and decided to check in to see how his successor was doing. Not that she needed any help; she was very capable and that is why he personally chose her over the others.
He went to the lift and said “Sickbay ” and it took him to the floor and he got off and entered the bay. She has changed up the place and he thought it was too better streamline the process. Seeing her in her office he went over and pressed the chime.

“Hmm.. Fascinating.” T’Aria hummed as she read over a previous datafile from a patient akin to the one she was endevaouring to treat. Pulling up her patient’s file, she quickly glanced over it, comparing and contrasting the two for any similarities that might give her the answers she was looking for. The answer to his condition were within her grasp, just inches beyond her reach.. But the enigma of journey remained: had she chosen the right path to finding a cure? This question would be the sole factor in determining how long it would take to get the Ensign the help he needed.
The chime. She had not been anticipating any visitors throughout the evening, at least, not that she could recall. Out of caution, she took a brisk glance to the side of her monitor, concluding it was still her shift, and time had not yet made a fool of the young Vulcan. Admittedly taken off guard, she rose her head to the door. “Come in.” Unlike most others, her voice did not echo, it did not carry the same weight nor prominence; it was much softer, quieter– to be expected of a canonically expressionless creature.
Dr. T’Aria
Chris heard her say come in and he did. Stopping in front of the chair that her underlings and patients set he he smiled at her. “Forgive the intrusion at this late hour. But I’d thought I’d stop by and see how you’re doing and just chat until my shift starts. That is unless , of course you’re busy?”
Chris saw the copious amounts of PaDDs on her desk and the computer on.
