T’Aria entered the turbolift after her debrief with Taggart (and a series of reports that raised more questions than they answered), tempted to return to her quarters and meditate until her shift at 0800, but she needed to make a quick stop at Sickbay before she could retire for the night.“Deck 5,” she ordered, closing her eyes to take a few sobering breaths as the turbolift descended.
T’Aria stepped off when the doors hissed open, revealing a deck bustling with red-, gold- and blue-shirted crew dashing in all directions. She fell into the flow, branching off when familiar doors appeared on her left.
Entering Sickbay, she approached the receptionist.
“Hello, Ensign,” she greeted, “is Doctor Symar available?”
— T’Aria

“Commander T’Aria,” said a voice from behind her, “What can I do for you at this hour?” Symar had just been collecting supplies from one of the Chernov’s medical labs and had to fight the urge to grin when he saw the XO standing at the reception desk; in the months that she and Ensign Kastarak had been made aware of Symar’s true identity, the two had not had much time to spend with each other where he could completely drop the mask of a pureblood Vulcan and embrace his dual identity…
-Lieutenant Symar: Chief Medical Officer-
“Oh,” T’Aria quirked her eyebrows and turned to greet Symar with a cordial nod, “hello, Doctor.”
In the time since Symar revealed his truth to her and Kastarak, T’Aria hadn’t much time to share with him, except in passing conversations and away missions. Their last private encounter had been in her quarters, months ago, when he asked to share a life with her. She never gave him a clear answer. T’Aria clenched her jaw at the thought but dismissed it before it delved into territory better suited for meditation. Still, his companionship and freedom to be was of great significance to her. She intended to make time for him in the future.
“I understand it is late,” T’Aria said, “but I require medical clearance before returning to duty.”
Though minor, her ‘injury’ required a brief check-up upon returning to the ship. Any physician or nurse could’ve run a few scans and sent her on her way, but she used it as a (perhaps poorly disguised) excuse to see him.

“Would you care to join me in my office Commander, we can use the biobed I have set up in there.”
-Lieutenant Symar: Chief Medical Officer-
“Very well,” T’Aria lifted her hand in a gesture for Symar to lead the way. Though short, the silence between the reception area and his office compelled her to speak. “How are you, Doctor?”
– T’Aria
“I have… been undertaking a lot of meditation in recent times Commander. Though I’m unsure if it has been of any use thus far.” The door to the office hissed shut; at which point, Symar relaxed, “Or in a more emotional sense, I’ve been thinking… a lot.”
-Lieutenant Symar: Chief Medical Officer-
T’Aria approached the biobed and lifted herself onto the pad, her feet dangling over the edge.
“If you are comfortable and willing, I am here to listen,” she said, “perhaps externalising your thoughts will help them feel less daunting.”
She paused, then said, “what is on your mind?”
