T’Aria entered the turbolift after her debrief with Taggart (and a series of reports that raised more questions than they answered), tempted to return to her quarters and meditate until her shift at 0800, but she needed to make a quick stop at Sickbay before she could retire for the night.

“Deck 5,” she ordered, closing her eyes to take a few sobering breaths as the turbolift descended.

T’Aria stepped off when the doors hissed open, revealing a deck bustling with red-, gold- and blue-shirted crew dashing in all directions. She fell into the flow, branching off when familiar doors appeared on her left.

Entering Sickbay, she approached the receptionist.

“Hello, Ensign,” she greeted, “is Doctor Symar available?”

“Commander T’Aria,” said a voice from behind her, “What can I do for you at this hour?” Symar had just been collecting supplies from one of the Chernov’s medical labs and had to fight the urge to grin when he saw the XO standing at the reception desk; in the months that she and Ensign Kastarak had been made aware of Symar’s true identity, the two had not had much time to spend with each other where he could completely drop the mask of a pureblood Vulcan and embrace his dual identity…
