Chris walked in the conference room 1 and immediately started a pot of coffee and a pot of hot water for the tea drinkers. He never knew why British people and aliens drank so much tea instead of coffee. HE sat down in his spot while he waited for the others to arrive.

Kastarak was the first to enter. He had received a notification on his pad that he was to go to this meeting. Even though he assumed it was a mistake (he was a junior officer among hundreds others on the ship), he went on the off chance he wasn’t wrong.

“Sir?” he said, as he stepped in. “I received a notification to attend this staff meeting, sir.”

“Greetings Kastarak. Than…” Then Commander Grey came in.

William was next to arrive, this time he did not carry a PaDD nor a cup of his own coffee. He only poured a glass of water for himself “Captain” He said as a brief hello to Taggart, he did eye the doctor. Unsure why he was there seeing as he was neither a department head nor the ships first officer but Chris had odd ways.

Indeed, Chris did have odd ways.

T’Aria stepped into the conference room with an instinctive glance to those situated around its center table before greeting them, then finding her way to an empty chair to set down her PaDD (which had little more than annotated scans and notes from their previous discussion of the “cube-shaped anomaly”, in case it was needed).

“Ok. Greeting Commanders and Kastarak. And to explain why you are here because your question hinted towards it. You are our ships counselor. You need to be here to help with emotions and since you’re Vulcan, then we need your logic as well. Commander T’Aria can do those things yes, but again, you are the Chernov’s counselor and therefore are part of all Department Head meetings from now on. So if you ever get a notification, then come. If you don’t then don’t. We will wait on the others before we get going but will start in 10 minutes regardless. T’Aria, Kastarak. Can I get you both something to drink while we wait? Grey has already gotten his.” He made a point to talk to William after this as he has been becoming increasingly rude since our last mission and not saying hello to Kastarak but only to the Captain.

Blaze entered the room with a large pot of Irish coffee “I thought we will be better for us to drink real coffee and not the warm mud we have been drinking” he put the pot on the center of the table and took a set.
