The wolf-like alien lifted a hand and waved to the newcomer. The best analogy he could give for context to his appearance would be to imagine a Caitian from the prime universe, but based on a wolf instead of a lion.

“Welcome to the Chernov,” he said cheerfully. “My race is called the Laleri, Commander,” he added, grinning at the XO for a moment. “Don’t worry, no matter how drunk I may get, I will not forget that you are called a human.”

Mwezi

“Thank you for the warm welcome Mwezi, I appreciate it.”
Jay was intrigued by the Laleri and couldn’t wait to talk to Mwezi. Jay loved learning about other cultures and knew that the best way to learn was directly from someone who was a part of that culture. He had seen one other Laleri in his life, but knew nothing about them.
“I look forward to talking with you. I love to learn about other cultures, if you don’t mind sharing.”
He nodded to Mweize in a small show of respect.

OOC: a couple things to keep in mind, Wes.

Firstly, always reply to the latest post. You basically just aplit the timeline in three, which we can’t really do. If you wanna reply to Multiple events in a post, put your reactions to people between other paragraphs.

Secondly, always remember to sign off. Notice how we all put our character name at the end of our posts? That’s really important when people need to read your post three replies in and they can’t immediately tell that it’s you who wrote it.

Thirdly, and this is more specific to my character than anyone else’s, but Mwezi is from a custom alien species that I created, and according to the lore I’ve made about them, Mwezi is the first Laleri to have contact with Starfleet outside his planet. A young recruit like Jay wouldn’t have had the chance to meet Mwezi’s species before. The general advice with this is, never assume anything about someone else’s character. If you want your character to have history with them or their species (if it’s a custom species) contact the creator and plan that sort of thing beforehand. That way you won’t step on any toes. :)
