Hello all:

I hope you all have had a great holiday and are doing well. I will apologize for the length of this message and the fact that I will also be emailing this out. The reason for the emailing is because of the AWOLS, which is one of the things I will be mentioning, and to ensure that everyone will get this message and acknowledge it.

First Point, AWOLS:
We are getting bad with AWOLs and I am part of the problem as well. We need to do our best to stay within posting limits. The XO and I will send out reminder emails to the affected party/parties. Having said that, I have noticed a trend not only on this ship but Starfleet wide. People who will be AWOL and post every couple weeks or so that they don’t get kicked off. This will not happen on the Chernov. If you only post twice or so a month then your character would either be deleted or hidden depending on how many notices were issued to you. I know real life comes first and sometimes you can’t always post and I know that life gets too busy to post an LOA sometimes, but please try. We don’t have a lot of players as it is on our ship since our ship is very unique. I and the XO will also fall under these same rules. We are not exempt.

Second Point, Recruitment:
It is one of the hallowed duties of the CO and XO to recruit people. It is not as easy as it sounds. So please help us out and ultimately yourselves by trying to get some new people on here. I know that the Main SIM has been slow for a lack of words, but I am trying. I will do better and that is a promise. As the Academy Vice Commandant, I see that we have upwards of around 5-10 cadets apply to the site a month, (less or more depending on the month), out of those about 25% actually make a character to join, then out of that, one or two would actually stay on and make it to Main Fleet. It sucks but what can you do about it.

Third Point, Getting Along Together:
This point is hard for me to broach because it is not everyone but a select few. I will not be mean and name names except for one later on in this post. This really should not be said but it has to be. If you are on this ship, you will role-play with the rest of the crew. If you hate, dislike, or just plain don’t want to play with your Department Head or another character, then I guess that is too bad. In the real world we all have bosses, coworkers and customers that make us mad or irritated. I do realize that we all come to this site to get away from the mundane, real life and to be with like-minded friends and relax. Now if that said person you are having a problem with is actually being a jerk, then you have every right not to play with them and please let the XO and I know if we haven’t seen the problem, like in Discord or email. If it gets too bad for you, then we can see about either reassigning you to a different department or let you make a new character. Now please do not misunderstand. I am not really telling you to play with someone or else. But if your character and another character have a disagreement and it is really not that serious, then be adults and move along. It also helps with character building. I have read some of the posts from some of the players on here and although I see a brief problem, it is easy to overcome by talking. So, be adults and identify the problem, work with the person/s and if possible, come to terms and move along.

Fourth Point, The Character Blaze played by James Gray:
This is an ongoing topic that I cannot believe that after two real life years, I am still talking about it. The story goes that he and the former, former Chief Engineer who is now our FCOMM, came up with a story that he hacked his way into Starfleet and was here on the ship illegally. Well, we all came up with the story that since he has proved himself and the fact that he saved the Captains life on an away mission, that Taggart was going to give him a chance and in character he went to night school and finished the Academy online. So he is a full-fledged Starfleet Officer now! Period, Dot, End of sentence. He had a problem with our FCOMM when she was the CE even after that and the fact that it was hearsay that she told the oncoming CE about it and that there was a problem with those two for a long time. I changed up their departments to make it better and now he is having a problem with people in his own department not wanting to role-play with him or even speak to him. That is unacceptable. Please look above at the precious point for those reasons. So please for the love of everything Vulcan, get along or be replaced and that includes Blaze as well.

James Gray has recently in the last month realized that his way of role-playing has had a negative effect on people. He has had a deep talk with me via the phone and has told me that and has also provided a plan to change up his role-playing style. So, he is trying to change and I would like for you all to at least give him the benefit of doubt and role-play with him again. We all deserve second chances and he is doing this Starfleet wide and not just on our ship. I am saying this with his permission.

Fifth Point, Main SIMS:
If any of you have a great idea for a story/mission that we all can do, please send it to me with a full write-up and synopsis, so that I can give it to the game master department for approval and then we can play it.

So, Please do your part and be a good member of Starfleet and please do not take anything I wrote the wrong way, but if you do, then please let me know and we can work it out like adults.
