Chris parked the yacht in the dock and looked at everyone. “Ok. Last chance to leave.” Walking down the plank to the guy tying up the boat, Chris gave him some money. “Ok people! Let’s head to area that we’re going to get to our new ship!”

Chris

Symar, once more masking his true Romu-Vulcan identity as a pureblood Vulcan, stepepd off the yacht and arched an eyebrow, “The next few minutes could be, what is the human phrase, ‘a wild ride’.”

-Lieutenant Symar: Chief Medical Officer-

“How far is it?” asked Kastarak, looking around at the harbour. He had already beamed up to the Chernov and back, carrying a bag with medical supplies from his ship. He just needed some Romulan-looking clothes and he’d look like a Romulan. But could he pretend to be one?

He practised a smile. It felt extremely odd, and he quickly regretted it. He hoped no one saw it.

– Ensign Kastarak (doctor / counsellor )

“It’s 5 kilometers. So not far.” Chris spoke.

Blaze did see the doctor trying to smile. He laughed a little bit. “ all right Captain most of the firewalls but I need a direct link to the hanger to initiate the bio alarm” he said Stretching out his legs “you guys can just call me Wise Man”

Lt. Alexander Blaze (Programmer)

Chris looked over at him. “Really? On my Yacht you were going to do it and not you need to be directly linked? Fine. I’ll get you a spot. And absolutely not in Wise Man. I forbid that one. There was a young officer on here before you and that was his name actually. It didn’t work out for the Chernov. So pick another please.”

Pawl felt strange being out of uniform and playing a completely different role than he was accustomed to. But He noted all had their moments of awkwardness. Pawl did not mention anything about this to anyone. PAwl was ready as he could be with the original betazoid gear he had. Pawl was guessing that was Blaze’s new name was his call sign. He did not hear any others mention their call sign. Pawl tried to think of one but he was not sure. “What can my call sign be?” Pawl asked softly to the others. maybe they would have better clues.

Lt Jg Pawl Batario - Jo Engineer

T’Aria stepped onto the harbour, quelling the urge to clasp her hands comfortably behind her back but to let them swing freely at her sides. The gesture felt unnatural – like she was violating some unspoken code – but if she were to pass as Romulan, she needed to lose her rigidity. T’Aria dismissed her thoughts when she heard a soft murmur emerged from Pawl. Though she did not understand the difference between a ‘call-sign’ and a pseudonym, she thought to offer some of what she observed

.

“Your call-sign is a personal decision,” she said. “It may be helpful to consider words or creatures with which you relate. Chris uses ‘Falcon’, for example, while Alexander chose ‘Wise Man’. What suits you, Pawl?”

— T’Aria, XO

“I also go by idiot depending on who’s calling me.” He smiled and slapped Pawls back

Pawl listened to the xo. but was still lost, no perfect name was remotely coming into his mind. “I am not sure ?” Pawl said honestly. “I don’t want to come across something taboo in nature still not knowing humans and other species that well.” Pawl said with sincerity.

Lt Jg Pawl Batario - Jo Engineer

Kastarak interjected.

“I’ve decided that my callsign is to be ‘Rateg’ – it’s a city on Romulus.” He turned to Pawl, “perhaps thinking of geography might help you arrive at something fitting?”

– “Rateg” (Ens. Kastarak, doctor/counsellor)

“Though the fascination will call signs is… puzzling, I have decided upon T’hy’la, the Vulcan word for friend, brother, or lover. As he landed on the last word, the CMO resisted the urge to shoot a quick glance to Commander T’Aria.

-Lieutenant Symar: Chief Medical Officer-

.PAwl listened to them chat and took the input to heart. “Well, I believe I will be called Rixx its part of the twin cities from the capital city of Betazed. or maybe tinker? Since I am an engineer.” Pawl added as he finished. As he looked at them casually trying not to stare at them.

Lt Jg Pawl Batario - Jo Engineer

Blaze looked at both “to close to home with your callsign. Doc how about Nightingale and pawl you can be shiny cuz you are brand new” he said

Lt. Alexander Blaze (Wise man)

William didn’t say anything as he walked besides the two, for this situation it might be best for Will to be in command but he didn’t have the same experience with Romulan technology. As such he didn’t partake in the banter between the junior officers. He disliked being out of uniform even more than he did the assignment.

William Grey

Pawl was not sure what to say at first. as he let the words sink in. He was about to speak then stopped. then spoke a moment later after his thoughts finally focused on themselves. “I can see the nightingale reference that would be good for the doctor. or others that might be part of medical. but I don’t see the shiny reference. Its almost bad as being called a greenhorn?” Pawl said with little emotion.

Lt Jg Pawl Batario - Jo Engineer

Umbri and Lucian stepped onto the harbor, making sure that everyone else in Security (who had just arrived) was accounted for before joining the rest of the crew. “I’ve briefed my team on the use of call signs. Personally, I’ve decided to use Author because I compose music in my spare time,” said Umbri. “As for me, I’ve decided to use Merman because I’ve been told several times that I look like one thanks to my pink hair,” Lucian laughed.

Lieutenant (j.g.) Umbri Zayne, Weapons Officer & NE Lucian Vyctor, Security Officer

Pawl thought about it a moment longer. ” I decided I believe tinker will work. unless there are any other objections?” Pawl added casually.

Lt Jg Pawl Batario (Tinker) Jo Engineer

“None at all, Tinker”, said Kastarak and continued walking.

– “Rateg” (Ens. Kastarak; doctor / counsellor)

PAwl followed the others. “I am glad someone likes it.” Pawl said calmly to the doctor as they walked. He fell quiet as he tried to keep an open mind.

Tinker - (Lt Jg Pawl Batario - Jo Engineer)

Umbri was fairly good at reading other people’s emotions, so Pawl stuck out to them. They walked up beside him and smiled. “I like “Tinker” as well. It fits within your occupation as an Engineer,” they said, trying to be as reassuring as they could given the circumstances.

“Author” aka Lieutenant (j.g.) Umbri Zayne, Weapons Officer

“Thank you, sir! that’s very kind of you to say. I know I am new here and a bet out of place but I am learning.” Pawl said kindly to the officer. “I believe your call sign id author.” Pawl asked making sure he was getting them right.

Tinker - (Lt Jg Pawl Batario - Jo Engineer

Blaze was looking at his computer screen “if I do this and that I can do this and booya” he said as his Computer gave a pleasant chime “ I can use the remote control system to start the bio alarm and beam us on and beam the workers who got trapped by the Bulkheads off the ship” he said Starting to write the last bit of code he needed.

Lt. Alexander Blaze (Programmer) WiseMan

OOC: I don’t think that’s possible Blaze.

IC. “Ok. So now you can do it. Let’s get ready before you attempt it. Everyone ready?” He said to them all.

Captain Falcon

“I doubt the vessel is located planetside,” T’Aria nodded and cleared her throat after a few moments of pensive silence, “and they would not house a starship of that calibre in plain sight. How exactly are we to get to the ship, Cap– Chris?” It would be unwise of them to enlist Federation-affiliated (which most of Risa’s civilian transports were) or Starfleet vessels to get to the ship without risking being caught. Did Chris have another connection? And what were they to do when they found the dock and the ship? There wasn’t much of a plan save for Blaze’s bio-alarm… and that concerned her, especially without much knowledge on who from which they were commandeering this ship.
