As Lovejoy was in engineering, something ended up popping up and was wondering what it was about. She then looked at her officer and said “ensign have you done a systems check yet?” She asked the ensign.

She was real concerned about what was going on and was really wondering about the systems in engineering.

Chief Engineer Lovejoy

NE Ensign Good looked up at Lovejoy. “No ma’am. Not yet. I’m run one now.” He pressed a few buttons and waited for the result.

OOC: Just let me know what the result is and I’ll post it for you!

NE Ensign Good, Engineering

OOC: Copy that.

IC: “Alright ensign make sure to go ahead and run one now. I’ll make sure to keep an eye on it and see what comes up.”

Chief Engineer Lovejoy

Kastarak, doing office work during Sickbay’s quiet hours, knew a ship-wide engineering simulation was planned, but it took him by some surprise nonetheless that Sickbay completely shut off. One second later, the emergency power went on, with dimmed lights.

Ah, yes, he thought, it’s a simulation. He decided he needed to play along.

He called Engineering.

[o] Sickbay to Engineering, this is Ensign Kastarak, physician, in charge of Sickbay for this shift. Sickbay has lost all power, and is only on emergency generator power for now. Please advise. [o].

– Ens/Dr Kastarak

[o] sickbay this is engineering. We are just “taking a look” at a few things. Just in case of a real life situation was to happen. [o] she responded.

Chief Engineer Lovejoy

Kastarak didn’t understand. What did she mean, taking a look at things? This is a ship-wide training session, and Sickbay was included.

[o] I do not understand. Please advise. Sickbay in standby. [o]

[o] as you are aware this is a training for my people here in engineering. How did it affect sickbay [o]. She responded.

Chief Engineer Lovejoy

[o]I would not presume to understand how it might affect Sickbay. I am not an engineer, I am not skilled to make such assessments. You are, ma’am.[o]

Kastarak paused. He did not wish to break character. Why had Lovejoy broken character? Surely that is not what you’re supposed to do during a simulation. Kastarak was confused.

[o] Alright doctor. I’ll send someone to figure it out. Don’t worry. [o] she responded. “Ensign you find going to sickbay to figure what’s going on. I know that this is just a training for you but the doctor is wondering why it is affecting sickbay systems.” She asked one of her engineers.
