The crew that had been beamed aboard the Cardassian vessel found themselves confined in a cell designed for half the amount of people that was forced into it. The sadism of the Cardassians would be completely clear when they looked out the forcefield doorway and saw their XO strapped to a table. A pair of Cardassians in their sharp styled armor uniform were preparing tools in front of where Taggart lay at an angle to the floor. One of them grabbed something akin to smelling salts and waved under Taggart’s nose to get a response from him. “Wake up, creature. We wish to talk.”-GM
Chris woke up to the smell of what was put under his nose. “Ug…man. Whe…wh…where am I?” He looked around the best he could and saw some of his crew locked up and packed like sardines. Chris also noticed that he couldn’t move. He looked at the one that he thought spoke. “Talk? You got a funny and weird way of asking someone for conversation?” He was about to say something else when he realised something. “Hey. I can understand you. How is that possible?”
Commander Chris Taggart XO
Kane shifted himself towards the front of the cell with an ample application of elbows and shoving. He looked at the Commander and the beings surrounding him. He took note of the tools that they were prepping, trying to quickly deduce the individual purpose of each. The general use, torture, was pretty obvious. He gritted his teeth and then a smile crossed his features. A few moments later, a soft chuckle began that slowly built up into a full on laugh. He pointed at the figures in armor and turned and looked back at the rest of his ‘companions’. “They look like the bad guys from crappy sci-fi vids.” and then the laughter slowly faded as he turned back and looked directly at them. The smile faded, replaced with the look of utter contempt. “Except those buffoons could actually be scary. You guys look more like… bureaucrats. Or maybe accountants.” and he whipped his head back to the assemblage in the cell, smacking a few in the face with his hair, and said “Hey, remind me to ask these guys about an extension on my tax filings, will ya?” and then he turned and looked back at the subjects of his scorn, crossing his arms on his chest and shaking his head dismissively.

One of the Cardassians walked over a few steps and pressed a button, sending a pulse of electricity through the occupants of the cell. The other of the two stepped towards Taggart. “Quite the extraordinary attitudes of your officers. I will enjoy this meeting I think. ” He picked up a tool from the tray to the left of Taggart. “I would hold still for this.” He smirked before pressing g the took into Taggart’s mouth and wrenching a molar from his gums. The back and forth wrenching motion causing a slight twist in the tooth before it tore free.
As the pulse coursed through Kane he clenched his teeth and grunted but did everything in his power to not scream out, unlike some others. When the current stopped, Kane took a few deep breaths.
Chris smirked a bit at the Cardassian officer when he talked about the attitudes of the officers in the cell. Chris thought to himself that if Kane was given a chance then he would rip open this Alein with his teeth.
Then Chris noticed that the Cardassian picked up a tool and was bringing it up to his mouth. “What are you going to do with that?” But Chris’s question went unanswered as the Alein wrenched a molar out of the back of his mouth. The pain was intense and Chris did do his best to look courageous not only to his men but to the enemy as well. Chris didn’t scream or anything but the Cardassian officer could tell it did hurt him.
The Cardassian man stepped back and placed the tooth in a box before taking a pair of what looked like scissors and cutting a lock of Taggart’s hair and adding it as well. “See, now that the unpleasantries are out of the way, we may speak like men. Would you mind telling me who your people are, and why you are in our space?”
-GM
Chris looked up at the Cardassian officer and mustered up the ability to spit all of the blood welling up in his mouth towards the face of said officer and smiled.
Commander Chris Taggart XO
The officer wiped the blood off his cheek and sighed. “Pity. I had hoped this would be a bit more cordial after the necessary identification items. We normally collect those while our own are very young. However, you aren’t really someone we were expecting to meet. Unlike your crewmates. You seemed to be a more reasonable sort. I was hoping for a more collected conversation could be had in my office after the rest of your crew has been identified. Seeing as you have now become Cardassian citizens.” He had a warm smile that was quite contrary to the room and instruments around him. He placed a rod into a computer terminal next to a screen, “After all, your ship is gone.” He stated as the screen showed what appeared to be a few explosions followed by disruptor shots clearly hitting the hull of the Chernov before breaking into pieces.
-GM
Kane laughed out loud again and made sure he was standing straight up as he did so. He paid little attention to the rest of the crew around him. He focused solely on the alien speaking. “Man, are you an idiot. You pull secondary molars and expect it to not cause a temporary bio-induction to the substrata vocal nerves? Any first year medical student knows you cant perform oral surgery and then expect the subject to be able to speak without difficulty for at least an hour.” He hoped that the alien was unfamiliar with human physiology, at least enough to realize that Kane might know more than he did. And even if he was somehow familiar with the subject, then at least they would know these beings had dealings with humans before. “Could you maybe ask for someone competent to come in and continue our interrogation? I mean, if we are gonna talk to someone, it should probably be someone who knows… well, anything… about what they are doing. Or are all of your people just stupid? I mean, I’m not judging. Some races are just not gifted up in the ‘ol brain-housing assembly. It’s just the nature of evolution. Some get the brains…” he said, tapping his finger into his own chest, “… and some don’t. I’m sure your people make up for the lack in a myriad of other ways… I’m sure you are more than capable accountants. And fine jugglers.”

OOC: Didn’t see your response, Travis. Editing to incorporate.
OOC: It’s fine mate. I’ll put my previous response after yours.
Chris watched as the Chernov exploded. A tear ran down his cheek. A feat made even more possible since he was still in pain from the tooth extraction. He knew of the plans to make it look like the ship was destroyed but the disruptor blasts looked like they came from this ship and looked real. Could they have actually destroyed the Chernov or fabricated it to show their superiors. Thankfully only Kane and him knew of the ships plan and he knew Kane wasn’t going to talk. He will still think that his ship was safe. Some hope was better than none.
“Will you have a strange way of showing that you mean no harm and just want to talk. My ship was full of people that just wanted to talk and now I have a crew of six! If you want to have identification on us, you can just take some pictures, a small blood sample and a copy of our fingerprints. No need to take our teeth or hair. The blood sample will give you the DNA you need to identify us which is the exact same stuff you will find in our hair and teeth. Besides as a medical doctor I use the patients or victims whole dental mold to make a positive identification.”
“I will talk to you and I will be reasonable. After all, we are both Cardassian citizens.” Chris smiled a bit. “I pride myself as such when I was a doctor, but I am also their ships captain and I have a commitment to the safety and welfare of my crew. Just like you do with your crew. So if I talk to you and cooperate what guarantee do I have from you that my crew will be treated fairly and not harmed?”
Commander Chris Taggart XO
The Cardassian pressed a button on his console and the force field became opaque so that none could see out or in. Not even sounds would get through.
Kane swore loudly, and then turned to look at his fellow prisoners. “Wow, thanks for the backup everybody.” he said sarcastically. He then touched the force field and, making sure it wasn’t electrified, put his back against it and slid to a sitting position on the floor. “Ok. Roll call. Who is who and what skill sets do we have to aide us in our current situation?” picking a person at random, he pointed. “You first.”
He then continued as he undid the straps holding down Taggart. His voice smooth as silk, “Now come with me. I will show you to a conference area where we may speak plainly. Unless you plan on staying in here that is? “
-GM
Chris’s question about his crew went unanswered for now and he nodded to the Cardassian officer. “I’ll go with you to talk like two sensible and reasonable and rational beings.” He said as he waited to get released. Once released, Chris did as he promised and did not do anything stupid and followed the Cardassian to the conference room.

Bump
The rest of the crew in the cell sounded off. Most of them were crewmen of various trades. One engineering ensign among them and one botanist. The engineering ensign sniffed, ‘I think we are in the gumbo pot now....’
-GM
Kane whipped his head at the Ensign and said “I hate gumbo. So you are gonna help get us out of this pot. Thanks for volunteering.” and then he elbowed and shoved his way over to the cell’s wall. “Gumbo-boy, start looking for any way to access anything in these walls. Loose panel, access port welded over, anything. The rest of you look, too. We are not just gonna sit here and let these who-ever-the-hell-they-are walk off with the XO. Or, we are at least going to keep ourselves occupied so I don’t start thinking about how long it will take before cannibalism is a solid option. Got it? Get to work. All of you.”

The NE grumbled about snacking Kane with a Gumbo pot later as he and the others started probing the walls. It wasn’t long before the opaque wall dropped and two cardassian guards stuck the closest officer with a stun rod (think cattle prod) and dragged them out before making the wall opaque again.
-GM
Kane tried to get to the wall before it closed, but ended up only banging against it as it solidified. Gritting his teeth, he looked back at the assemblage. “Everybody get back. move back as far as you can. If they want us, they are gonna have to come in here to get us. And keep looking for a way out.”

Bump
Ooc: So sorry guys. Caught a bad cold and trying to fight through it.
Ic: The crew did as told and waited. It would seem like a small eternity passed before anything happened. A small sound trumpeted out from behind the group as a young Crewman blushed. “Sorry. I’m nervous”
-GM
Kane looked at the ceiling and said exhaled deeply. He then shook his head and said “Ok, everyone to the back. C’mon. Move move move.” and he herded the crowd as far back as they would go. Once there was some space between them and the force field, Kane said “Keep looking for something we can work with. But stay away from the force field. If they are gonna take another one of us, it’s gonna be me.” and he moved toward the side of the cell and put his back to wall, his shoulder just inches away from the opaque energy field.
