Toveka frowned a moment in thought. “The probe would have to have the simulated brain matter in it. Perhaps we can get a sample from the Klingon and replicate his brain signature. At least for the probe’s identification, anyway. Then we’d have to find out at what ‘frequency’ or chemical signature the probe activates. If it’s something like stress, or death, or even cardiac arrest, we need to know how to activate it. Though I’m guessing, now that I think about it, that death doesn’t do it or the chip would have phased once it was disconnected from the host. Essentially reading the lack of input as ‘death’.”
She was rambling, but it was thinking out loud and she wasn’t even half aware she was doing it.

CSOBaldur smirked slightly, scientists always had the most wonderful enthusiasm when struggling with a new problem, it was positively infectious “Well I think that calls for experimentation. That is unless you feel it would prove a security risk to the Station?” he said in a questioning tone.
Soo - Baldur
She nodded. “Actually I think we need to see what the emergency is about. That klaxon outside the room is driving me to distraction. I’m just glad I can silence it in here.” When the alarms had sounded less than ten minutes ago, she had automatically locked down science. Now that the sim was done they had been running before the sound, she could safely remove it. “First, we need to see what the chaos is about. Then we will worry about the probe. We will need to get a sample of the Klingon’s DNA to replicate the brain matter so it has his signature.” She turned back around and shook her head. “The other question isn’t just how to find out when and where it came from, but why it’s here.” She squatted down to open the cabinet under the console and seek out a container to lock the chip up in so they could look at it later.

CSOBaldur had been so engrossed in the work that he had completely ignored the alarm originally. He tapped a nearby console to bring up the station status report to see what was going on. His eyes narrowed as he saw a security alert for outside what seemed to be a brewery. He wasn’t Security personnel so he hadn’t thought much of the previous alert but this was different. He tapped a few more commands only to see that the Security Chief in the Medical bay. Why would he be there and not fighting intruders? On a hunch, he tapped his combadge =^=Baldur to Tenkiller, What exactly’s going on?= ^= He asked in a firm voice.
SOO - Baldur
A frustrated Oklahoma accent responded immediately.=^= Hell if I know. We have multiple hostiles on the Promenade, and the Skipper has me on some wild goose chase here in medical for something the Doc just told me about. Dollars to donors that’s what this is about, so I’m trying to find the damn thing. =^=
Tenkiller, CoS
Toveka frowned. If he was in medical, she had a feeling she knew what he was seeking. Her own comm activated and a slightly Romulan accented voice came to his ears. =^=Tenkiller, Sir. The Captain just came by here and said the same thing. That he wanted us to look for something they might be looking for. I say we compare notes and see what we come up with. Maybe we can find it quicker.=^=
She frowned at Balder. “What? I wasn’t gonna tell him we had it. Never know who’s listening… right?” She looked at the chip. “I think we need to get this and the brain matter into a couple containment fields and we need to work on that probe you were talking about.” She immediately went under the counter once more for a secondary container. Putting the chip in one, and the brain matter sample in the other, she placed them both in a secured travel case and set the case under the desk between two other identical cases. Standing back up, she looked at Balder. Her hand absently touching his arm. “We can’t tell the Security Chief we have it till we are sure he is alone and not under duress. Agreed?” She immediately took a step back and let go of him as she realized how inappropriate she had been. “Apologies, Sir…” she murmured.

CSOA swirl of lights indicated the arrival of… someone. Soon, the form of the station’s Security Chief coalesced into being and he looked around. “Ok. What the hell is going on, who just lied to me, and where is the item?”
Tenkiller, CoS
Toveka frowned and stepped around from the CIO beside her. “You know, for a security officer, you leave a lot to be desired in my eyes, Sir.” The final word given out of respect but an edge of irritation was evident. “What if the lab was compromised and you had just beamed in here and let it rip that the item was possibly here?” She took another step towards him, her hands clasped calmly in front of her. “And with alert claxons going off, and you in sick bay, did it ever occur to you my lie was because I didn’t know who was listening or around you, either?”
She stopped just in front of her. “I’m Toveka Brine, Chief Science Officer and I lied to let you know I knew of what you were speaking of but didn’t want others to know. If you would take a breath and calm down I’ll be happy to explain.” She looked at him as her speech, nearly Vulcan like in her lack of emotion, was skewed by the fact she was Romulan in features. Though lacking just enough of the edges of both human and Romulan features as to make one wonder just how mixed her gene pool was.
Toveka
CSOHe glared briefly at her and said “Let me bring you both up yo speed. I’ve got dozens of civilians and station personnel getting shot at, maybe killed, and a Skipper trying to get me to that… whatever the hell it is. I don’t have time for games. I dont have time for discussion. Now where is it.” His voice was calm, his face the same. But there was an air of urgency that said he was done playing scavenger hunt while people’s lives were at risk.
Tenkiller, CoS
Toveka actually frowned slightly. “I understand that. Are you planning to give it to the people who are looking for it?” She looked at him and wondered why this moment had him so unsettled. She was no Betazoid, but even she knew that this situation was rubbing him in a way most others hadn’t. “If you are, I want to replicate a passable duplicate. We believe it is phase tech and I don’t want them using it to bring MORE trouble upon us.” She started to move towards the replicator.
Toveka
CSOAn idea occurred to him. “I wasnt planning on giving it to anyone. But give me that copy. I have an idea. And get that whatever you said it was into some kind of scan-proof container. No readings, got it? Not until we get our guests off the station.”
Tenkiller, CoS
The voice of the captain came over the comm. He was speaking more loudly than usual and there was phaser fire in the background. =/\= McGarrett to Tenkiller. Is the artifact from the Klingon’s brain secure? I’m sure they’ll want that one if they’re after the one here. =/\=
Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO
Toveka quickly tapped in the coding to replicate the chip in its static form. Bringing it to Tenkiller as the Captain popped up on the comm, she mouthed to Tenkiller, It is already and handed him the fake chip in silence.
She then backed up to stand close to the CIO, she leaned over and whispered to Balder, “Please… stay if the Captain doesn’t order you away.” She glanced up at him and her eyes held a hint of fear. It wasn’t a new concept to her. Merely a foreign and nearly forgotten one.
Toveka
CSO
=^= Secure and on the move, Captain. And I’ll be next to you in two minutes. Hold tight. =^= and he looked at Toveka and Balder. “Give me the real one. I’m gonna secure somewhere I know they cant get in.”
As this transpired Paige walked in “What in the name of Hades is going on?” She demanded hearing the comm call from the Captain. She looked at the three people in the room “I need to know what’s going on so I can protect my patients.” She demanded.
