Tenkiller looked at himself in the mirror. Charcoal gray suit with a few shades lighter gray tie; the tie with a subtle silver stitching. Deep sapphire shirt. Dark brown leather shoes, matching belt. Pocket square of a color matching his shirt barely peeking out of the left breast pocket of his coat. His long, jet black hair pulled back into a low ponytail and secured with a two inch wide leather cuff that matched his shoes and belt. His cologne was reminiscent of open skies and sage. Cufflinks made of white gold and obsidian held the french cuffs together. He took a breath and exhaled slowly. He was glad he was a tad nervous. He did a quick check of his teeth and then left his quarters, making his way past the hydroponics bay to pick up the flowers he had asked for, and then to door to the Chief Science Officer’s quarters. He cleared his throat, and pressed the chime.

She had been staring at the mirror for five minutes. She had been ready for ten. As the bell chimed, she jumped. Toveka went to the door and inhaled deeply before opening it.

If she had been nervous before hand, she was petrified now. He cut such a striking picture she actually forgot to invite him in. Her own dress * was a silvery grey with matching strappy heels *. Her hair was pulled up in a bun but several strands around her neck and temples were ‘loose’ and curled to frame her face like a staged mistake. Her makeup was artfully applied. A touch of khol to her eyes to line them and a tasteful lipstick in a mauve that complimented her skin tone perfectly. She had a silver chain around her neck and a matching chain around her wrist. Both held a small charm of a tiny silver round cage with a small bead inside of lightest blue.

It took her a moment but she finally blinked and smiled. “Tenkiller… please… come in. Sorry.” She stepped aside to let him in.

He chuckled and came inside and handed her the long stem purple roses. “You know you can call me Charles, if ya want. Or Skip. Most folks I’m friends with do.” and he cast a long, obviously appreciative look at her and her attire. “Now if ya had worn that when you came to my office about the shuttle, I probably woulda given you the keys right then and there.” and then he looked directly at her. “You look beautiful, Toveka. Amazing, even.” and he leaned forward and kissed her cheek lightly.

Taking the flowers, she smiled. And blushed when he complimented her. “I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m on the defensive end of an argument with me.” She had moved to the cabinets over the replicator and removed a gorgeous black and purple vase. Setting the roses in the water from the sink, she smiled. “They are gorgeous. I hope your dept to the Botanicals isn’t too high, now.” She turned to face him, leaning back on the table a few steps away from him. “You look pretty amazing, yourself, Ten… Charles.” She nodded in acknowledgment.

“I scrub up okay, do I?” he asked with a smile. “Well, shall we? Dinner awaits. And then dessert.” and he winked. Offering her his arm, he activated the door.
