She wasn’t mad. That’s what infuriated her so much. Tenkiller had been doing his job when he told her she didn’t have permission to use the shuttle to go into the debris field. It was now an issue that she didn’t have proper clearance. Which meant only one thing… she had to get it.

Going back to her quarters, she tapped out a missive to the Captain seeking to speak to him about clearance into the field for collection of samples and data pertaining to its destruction. She then made herself a cup of tea and waited. She just hoped it came before her two days of off time were over. She’d already wasted half a day.

A few minutes later she received a call over her combadge. =^= McGarrett to Brine. Lieutenant I’ve got half an hour between meetings if you want to discuss your request now. I’ve been meaning to speak to you anyhow. =^=

Less than five minutes later, she was tapping the chime on the Captain’s door, tugging her uniform front down to be sure it lay well.

“Come in, Lieutenant,” came the familiar voice of the captain in response.

The door opened, revealing the empty as typical reception room. A moment later the door to Captain McGarrett’s interior office opened, revealing the captain seated at his desk, looking at a PADD. “There’s two certainties in life. Death and performance evaluations,” he oddly said without looking up.

Toveka walked in and nodded. “Yes, Sir… invariably. Though I am sure there are other things. But at the moment I can’t think of any.” She took a moment then spoke. “I appreciate you seeing me so quickly about my request.”
